Bills to sign TE Shawn Nelson; four rookies unsigned
The agent for Buffalo Bills rookie tight end Shawn Nelson is confirming that his client and the Bills have agreed to terms on a four-year deal. Terms of the deal, as per club policy, have not been disclosed.
Nelson's (eventual) signing means that four Bills rookies remain unsigned on the eve of the opening practice of training camp. Bills officials and player agents are expected to work late into the night to try to get DE Aaron Maybin, OG Eric Wood, FS Jairus Byrd and OG Andy Levitre into camp on time. Right now, it is a virtual certainty that Maybin will miss the start of camp; the odds are against signing Wood by tomorrow morning as well.
A speedy, talented receiving threat, Nelson is expected to see time at both tight end and receiver in camp.

Great news, but
even more than Nelson or even Maybin, I want Wood and Levitre signed and in camp on time.

BB.com is saying Nelson hasn’t signed…
As of early Friday evening, Buffalo still have their top five draft choices left to sign. Contrary to some reports, fourth-round pick Shawn Nelson had yet to sign as well as the team’s two first rounders Aaron Maybin and Eric Wood and second round picks Jairus Byrd and Andy Levitre.

Did we ever find out why Nelson missed so much time before training camp? I think he has an up hill climb to get much playing time this year, due in part to not being in there from the jump.

Hoping that we finally got a good TE.
Praying that we can get some Jay Riemersma or Pete Metzelaars numbers out of him.
