Is Bell our backup LT and/or RT ?
Demetrius Bell, who had been starting at right tackle with Butler out, went back to left tackle with the second unit.
It seem like Bell is our backup RT, but not our backup LT. If not, why not keep him at RT with the second string? With Bulter being a bit injury prone, it seems likely that Bell will have to play some during the regular season/ Wouldn’t it be better for Bell and the Bills to get him comfortable with the right side?
I would love the Bills to win games, but I will be happy if they are competitive without snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Believe they are intending to use him as swing tackle
meaning primary back up on both sides
Chambers is now a G and seeing reps there primarily
Jonathan Scott is other true backup T in camp and is RT backup
It’s tough to say what the Bills will do if there’s an injury, but they can only dress 7 offensive lineman on gamedays. So if Bell is one of those 7, he’s effectively the backup at both tackle spots. I’d guess McKinney’s experience at center makes him the other active offensive lineman, so he’s the default backup at all the interior spots. I’d guess that Buffalo will start to shift their 2nd team offensive line around as the season gets closer to give Bell, Chambers and McKinney more reps at other positions.
I like that he is getting play on both sides
but for the future i would like him on the left

I think realistically it will be Chambers and McKinney: McKinney because of his center experience and Chambers because he is one of our most versatile lineman and has filled in at tackle. Bell is still a work in progress and unless he really grows by leeps and bounds by the end of preseason I see the experience Chambers having overshadowing Bell’s athleticism.
