Jets looking at WR options....Marshall or Bowe?
Just when you think this division can not get any harder.....Rotoworld is reporting that the New York Jets are actively looking to get another star wide receiver to line up opposite of Jericho Cotchery....Man....our corners have their work cut out for them this year....especially after watching Ted Ginn Jr. from Miami this past week. This division is going to be much harder than what people think....What do you guys think???
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I think that with a rookie behind center, it won’t matter much for the Jets. Plus Marshall has been a headache in Denver, how much of a problem would he be in New York? If the Jets were to acquire him, you might as well suspend him now. And the Chiefs would be insane to trade Bowe.

Agreed on Bowe. The kid was a great receiver with a 3rd stringer throwing him the balls, the Cheifs would be increadibly stupid to trade him no that they have a good QB.

Exactly. At the very least, it’s yet to be determined.

Common guys, Castel is a good QB. And as much as it pains me to say it, he’s proven more then Trent has at this point. Ok yes he was on a stacked Patriots team that even I could have thrown 2000 yards for, but he’s got a good head on his shoulders and should be successfull in KC. Will he play as well as he did for the Pats? No chance. But will he be productive? Yes, no doubt. And most importantly for the Chiefs, is he an upgrade over all the other QB’s that they had? Whichout a doubt, yes.

give me a break CBF!
How can you say that Cassel is a good QB with such certainty? Remember a certain QB we had after a “breakout” season? Cassel played with amazing tools not just on offense but on defense. If Jon Kitna’s first season had been with the Lions the year he broke out for 4,000 yards and 30 + touchdowns would he be a back up now? One season doesn’t make a QB, especially when he not only had two 1,000 yard receivers but a great offensive line, the best coach in football, a fantastic defense and was a cog in an unstoppable football machine that keeps winning Super Bowls and churned out an UNDEFEATED season the year before. Under Cassel, they didn’t even make the playoffs. There is no proof at all that he is good or proved more than Trent. He’s proven he can manage a team and the only time he did that was with arguably the best team in the league and he couldn’t get them to the playoffs.

Yeah, Pioli has got to be smarter than to trade Bowe away without getting a king’s ransom in return.
Marshall is probably available even though Denver is saying that he currently isn’t. I don’t think Denver would give him away cheap though. They are dangerously close to drafting in the top 5 next year. Or at least the top 5 of the 2nd round since they traded their first rounder (they still have Chicago’s). And I’m not sure that McDaniels can afford to make his team any worse in a single offseason and be welcome back next season.
I’m guessing these are just rumors and with Marshall being unhappy and Bowe inexplicably playing on the 3rd team in KC that the Jets were doing some poking, proding and praying that they catch a lucky break and get a great deal on a great player. It probably won’t happen though.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Marvin Harrison would be another option

that could very well be a possibility

I’d say it would be. A seasoned vet who, although he has lost 3 steps, would be a great influence on a rookie QB, and they wouldn’t have to give up anything to get him.

i went home for lunch today from work
and ESPN was having a debate about whether or not Marshall would be good for the Jets and ESPN 2 had an interview with Kerry Rhodes and Dustin Keller and they actually asked how they would feel about having Marshall. So I’d guess the issue is solely about Marshall. Either way, it would be terrible for us to have another dominant receiver in the division. Moss, TO, Marshall, Evans, Welker all in the same division? That has to be something special…..

No way they trade Bowe
And if they do.. What the hell is wrong with these guys coming out of Foxborro? McDaniels is arguably the dumbest and cockiest rookie Head Coach I’ve ever seen, he’s probably gone by y2
I seriously doubt that Pioli is poping the same brand of stupid pills!

I wouldn’t really care if the Jets got Marshall. Good player, but really has his struggles. I watched him a ton last year, having him on both my fantasy teams, and he just struggles to get open. He also drops a lot of passes. If it weren’t for Cutler forcing pass after pass to him, I’m not sure his numbers would be even close to what they were. If he were a Jet, I don’t think he’d have that big of an impact for them…
