I've got a roster question for you Bills fans...

Basically, I coached Lydell Sargeant in high school in basketball and baseball.  Great kid by the way!  I wanted to know what his chances are of making the roster or at least the practice squad?

Star-divide

And while I'm asking questions, what kind of numbers do you guys expect out of Lee Evans this year? I have him in my keeper league due to a trade (traded Lynch for Lee and a 2010 1st round pick) and I laughed when I realized I drafted him his first year in the NFL in this same keeper league, so I'm a 2x Lee Evans owner.  Hoping this year he treats me better than the last go round.

Thanks!

P.S.  I'm a Seahawk fan, but have always been a Bills sympathizer.  I hope you win knock heads in the East and come out on top!  :)

From everything I have heard, Sargeant is a virtual lock to make the practice squad. The team has six corners already that have impressed throughout the pre-season, so Sargeant won’t make the team outright unless a) one of those players is injured long-term or is dealt, and b) Sargeant is clearly ahead of Cary Harris (sixth-round draft pick) on the depth chart. I’m hearing he is.

I’ve been impressed with Lydell – I’ve seen him interviewed a couple of times, and he’s a well-spoken individual. It helps that he can play the game, too. Like I said, I’d call him a practice squad lock – but even if I’m wrong, he’s been good enough to get snapped up by another team pretty quickly.

He really is...

as good a kid and as well spoken as he looks on the interviews you’ve seen.

As a sophomore he transferred to the school I coached at (his dad is an Air Force dentist) and immediately made an impact on the basketball team. He was a solid baseball player Jr/Snr years, didn’t play hoops snr year due to lots of factors including a fear of getting hurt, and it hurt us bad. He was our leading scorer as a junior.

Always had good grades, treated everyone with respect, got along with all the different high school cliques, we never worried he’d get caught drinking at a party or anything either. He just “gets it” in regard to being a good person… and I doubt any of that has changed much over the years since I knew him well.

I FB added him and he was very complimentary toward me and my impact on him (believe me, he was already made, my impact was minimal) and he was incredibly gracious.

Please, for the LOVE OF GOD, stop suggesting next year's 1st round pick (or picks) be used for Taylor Mays and or a QB of the future. Let's just let the season unfold, people, and evaluate much deeper in the process!!!

Lydell should make the practice squad. Hes a good player, but the bills are extremely deep at defensive back.

Also, Lee will hopefully have a better year with T.O. drawing off the double coverage. Great trade by the way.

Yeah, it was a steal from my perspective...

Marshawn was my 3rd RB of 5 to keep… (Steven Jackson, Ryan Grant, J-Stew, Julius Jones) and I got a 2nd WR behind Andre3000 PLUS next year’s additional first rounder.

Our league also is scored so every position scores equally, including IDP’s. (We actually play 2 DL, 2LB, 2DB and a flex as well— we field a complete O and D squad.)

Speaking of which, got any skinny on anyone who’s going to have a monster D year for you guys, or even someone in division you fear may bust out against you?

Kerry Rhodes and Jim Leonhard for the Jets. Rex Ryan’s defense will be good and they will be able to get to the QB, those two will make a lot of plays.

Word is Chris Kelsay is going to have a monster year… I can’t even type that with a straight face.

If anyone on the Bills, I would say Poz, and maybe McKelvin.

Oh, thejimbo, I was rolling at your comment.

Hard to say anyone on the Bills will have a monster year, but I could see Poz having a breakout year.

My Opinion is always the best

Lydell has a greater chance of making the practice squad than the final roster. Obviously, we have high hopes for Jarius Byrd at the safety position. We also have some IMO underachievers on the roster that are anticipated to be moved thus allowing Lydell to be a Practice spuad player. He can help himself in this regard by performing well over the next two PS games. So far not to bad but the others ahead of him are seeing more time.

As reported Lee is expected to carry greater fantasy value with the no huddle attack we plan on using and the addition of T.O. We will need everyone to stay healthy for this to happen.

I drafted Lee this year

I would expect his touchdowns to go up with TO on the other side. Lee has proven to be a touchdown machine when playing opposite another weapon.

Guards Brad Butler and Brandon Rodd are decent. - Pete Prisco
Brandon Rodd!! Our best player.

he'll give you 10 TDs

I stand by our offense exploding this year!

I hope you got him in round 1!

evans will end up w/ 6-8 touchdowns and 1000 yards receiving this year

nothing spectacular, but i see TO being our target in the redzone as oppose to lee… most of lee’s scores will come outside the 20… i am a huge psu fan and like sargeant but w/ the corners we have it’s a long shot to make the roster.. i see the cb’s being mcgee, mckelvin, florence, corner, youboty, and if we were to keep a 6th right now i think lankster would have that spot over sargeant. i see lydell being on the practice squad i think he’s had a good camp and preseason, and i think he could see the field if we get banged up at that spot

Not at all...

surprising to me. Like I said, he really is a special person in a variety of ways…
