"If A Starting Quarterback Went Down For The Season (Like Brady Did Last Year), Who Do You Think The Best Back-up Quaterback Would Be?

Mike Martz
John Kitna. I believe he's a starter in this league. Ryan Fitzpatrick. He has everything it takes, he has it all. He'll get another opportunity, too, to lead a team, I'm sure."

Walsh and Martz

Walsh liked Edwards…..Martz likes Fitz. Lets hope one of them is right :-)

Walsh liked Edwards

Thats a bit of an understatement. Story has it that Ralph asked Walsh who he liked in the draft at QB and Walsh said something along the lines of “I only like one guy, a kid out of Stanford called Trent Edwards.”

Read that on SI.com.

That’s not even close! Bill Walsh called Levy after we drafted him to sing his praises and tout his ability. Ralph definitely didn’t seek out Walsh prior to the draft.

I like Fitzpatrick

I don’t think this guy hurts us at all. I still believe Trent is the #1 guy but Ryan isn’t going to drag us down. The jury is still out on both of them. I am still looking for one of these guys to walk up to the LOS in full control. Signalling to the lineman who is coming, setting up the right formation, calling the correct play when the defense is set against the current play, and protecting the ball along with allowing our offensive players to make a play. I still haven’t see much of this.
