2009 Bills Training Camp: Day 12 Open Thread
The Buffalo Bills take the field for their final night practice (and penultimate public practice) before their first pre-season game of the 2009 NFL season in just about a half an hour. Just as we've done throughout camp, we'll be doing our best to keep track of all of the comings and goings at practice, with one minor difference - MattRichWarren won't be going it alone tonight. I'll be there with him.
This open thread will therefore work differently - updates will come via Matt's twitter feed, and in my case, in the comments section below. I'll do my best to answer questions for you guys, but honestly, I plan on having my eyes on the field far more frequently than I do on my mobile device. Head on into the comments for tonight's action.

Check the time...
it’s a half hour before practice starts. Who needs to be there to watch autograph sessions?

Dude, there’s kids reading this site! Matt’s twitter should be left out of the conversation… : )
Can we get a picture that wouldn’t seem out of place with a caption like: Edwards again asks TO not to question his sexuality.
Of course we could make things more challenging, Lisa, but then the stupider students would be in here complaining, furrowing their brows in a vain attempt to understand the situation--Seymour Skinner
TO: But I just saw you put your hands near that guy’s sack!
Trent: How else is he going to snap me the ball?
TO: SHOTGUN?!?!

Just so long as TO doesn’t catch Trent Edwards staring at undressed Brad Butler it should all be okay…

attitude
I caught one post the other night comparing edwards to kelly…I was in buffalo during the k-gun era but living down south now…kelly was a q-back with a linebackers mentality, thomas was that ‘cocky’ kid that believed he could do anything…has anyone seen any swagger from any of these guys yet?
Not that kind of swagger. They haven’t done anything to earn walking around like that yet.

Really great stuff on Jenkins. I like how our receiving corps are coming into their own. It’s going to make our secondary work that much harder.

Do they have to end practice early every day? Toughen these cats up Jauron. Going easy on them now keeps them weak!

I can see every now and then or if its 2pm on a super hot day, but its seemingly every day. This is still a young team that hasn’t won a thing. You’d think they might do everything they could for an advantage…

But...But...But,
Juaron is a players coach. How is all of his players supposed to love him if he is tough on them?

Imagine what we’d be saying if there was a rash of serious injuries:
Damn Jauron! How dare he ride the guys so hard! Doesn’t he have any common sense?
Of course we could make things more challenging, Lisa, but then the stupider students would be in here complaining, furrowing their brows in a vain attempt to understand the situation--Seymour Skinner
In all fairness
Damn Jauron! How dare he ride the guys so hard! Doesn’t he have any common sense?
I don’t think practicing hard has ever been linked to more injuries, has it? Were Byrd, Leo, Nelson, Butler, Johnson, anyone else I missed, practicing hard when they got hurt?
And, That’s what she said.
"I BET YOU IF WE PUT A 12 DOZEN GLAZE DONUTS AT THE OTHER END ON KICK RETURN JAIME DUKES WILL BE OUR NUM # 1 RETURNER …… HOW YOU LIKE THEM APPLES DUKE APPLE PIE PUNKEN EATER DWINKE SMASHER DING DONG FLABER" - abayarde
either way
I hope that the team has the intensity to win down the long road of the season. Club Marv was considered soft in the 90s and we had alot of success. I just have seen a weaker team than our competition too many times, and if Jauron’s approach is going to prove itself to be right he has to light a fire under the players no matter how it happens
The Bills CAN win any game
They’re very dinged up right now. They’re trying to keep their numbers up for the game in Canton. That’s all it is.
