Bills vs Buccaneers: Week 2 Open Game Thread
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Buffalo Bills, Sep 20, 2009 4:05 PM EDT

Buffalo Bills (0-1) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1)
4:05 PM ET, Ralph Wilson Stadium (TV: FOX)
Bills inactives: LB Paul Posluszny (arm), rest TBD.
Today, we'll find out exactly what these 2009 Buffalo Bills are made of. Coming off of a devastating season-opening loss at the hands of New England on Monday Night Football, the Bills will take the field in roughly a half-hour to take on Tampa Bay in their 2009 home opener.
It's going to be a crazy atmosphere. Expectations for this team are raised despite the early loss thanks to the team's unexpectedly strong play. Terrell Owens is making his Ralph Wilson Stadium debut. Buffalo's 50th Anniversary All-Time Bills Team will be unveiled at halftime. It's going to be a day of memories, excitement and hopefully victorious football today.
It's time for these Bills to grow up. It's time to not just avoid the let-down, but prove to the skeptics that the team is better than the fluke-prone pretenders of seasons past. This team has talent, it has youth, and it has energy. The Buccaneers are a formidable foe, but their talent pales in comparison to ours, and this game is on our turf. It's time to show the world exactly how good this team can be. This is your open thread for this must-win game. GO BILLS!

Amen to that
That’s what the Jets did today.
I agree
I think the total lack of a pass rush has really hurt the Bills secondary…. We get pressure today a quick three and out, McGee almost got a pick, and then Whitner takes one to the hosue…. A mediocre group of recievers will get open if the have enough time

It's time for T.O. to step up
and start living up to all the hype. Time for our “D” to make some big stops in the fourth quarter, too, not just the first half of games.
It's time to cut Parrish
It was in fact Roscoe Parrish who caused that last fumble by missing his block. The guy is worthless. Time to cut him and make some room on the roster for a decent player.
What a joke.....Parrish missed the block, but since when does that mean the ball carrier has to fumble it?

The Bills haven't learned how to win
which includes burying a team when you have them down
not acceptable
while that may explain it, it most certainly doesn’t excuse it

Despite playing 2 fewer years, Evans has had better stats in every category, most especially TDs (32-9). I don’t think it’s even a competition.

Its not exactly building confidence that the defense can make a stop when they need too.
given up 18 points in the 4th quarter in two games………not great

A two-possession game
With 5 minutes left – hmmmmm….sounds familiar.
Only one time-out left for TB
That helps us A LOT.
Well.....
not a huge day for Jackson fantasy wise.
That fumble didnt help.

Me too
But the rest of my team is banged up so I lose anyway.
Wearing my Bills jersey to the Eagles-Bills game in Philly probably wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done. But then again, that's why they call me die-hard.

They need to go for it here...
if they don’t make it, forces TBB to got the whole length of the field
yeah it does
because they’ll need 2 TD’s to take the lead
instead of being able to tie with a TD and a FG

AFN has the game on now!
Catch ya’ll after the game
now I'd go for it on 4th and 1
instead of 4th and 3

Boy, SD and Baltimore just came on here
This one is going to come down to it. SD has no running game, Rivers is flinging it like a madman. Balt 28-26
Yea that’s the game that came on after the Bears game down here in NC.

So the Saints huh?
Next week should be fun…

for all of Turk's plays
that aren’t here anymore…let them
I was thinking more along the lines of
Fewell’s coverage. What does Greer know about Schonert’s playcalling?
Their bloggers said
they were more worried about playing us than they were about playing Philly today…
Well that makes sense...
since Kolb was starting for Philly…

And we are still something of an enigma
if we play all game like we did in the first quarter today, then it could get really interesting
yeah that 2nd and 3rd quarter were brutal.

Philly without McNabb are not much of a threat.

we'll see what Vick shows up with
but as for Kolb, it was pretty bad
You know, I want to see one more division game before I really say this, but
We really could be a playoff team. We look like it this year.
If we keep up this intensity, we could compete with anyone in the league
(see first 58 minutes of MNF)
that game looks worse after NE got manhandled by the jets
Jonathan Stupar won the Heisman…while playing in the NFL!
Just have to close teams out. If we leave the game open against playoff caliber teams then we will get burned like we did last week.

The Bucs hung 450 yards on Dallas last week
that seems to say more about Dallas’ D than this O
I love
Reggie Corner more than McKelvin.

More of a solid coverage guy
McKelvin is the game changing play-maker type
