Bills' Jackson has shown he belongs : Jerry Sullivan : The Buffalo News
Whatever you think of the circumstances surrounding Van Pelt's ascension to the job, he has instilled a new attitude in the offense, a swagger. Van Pelt has done a nice job of mixing up the plays and displayed surprising faith in the NFL's youngest offensive line.

Incidents at Bills' homes highlights player vulnerability | ProFootballTalk.com
Bills players have long had a unique relationship with the fans of Buffalo. It's similar to Green Bay, Wisconsin in that the players are seen as part of the community, not entertainment providers. There is no "love-hate" relationship between the majority of Bills fans and their team. They seem to love them unconditionally. But the incident at Whitner's home just six days after the trashing of McKelvin's lawn is going to put Bills players on high alert.

Bills replay: Defense turned up the heat : Buffalo Bills : The Buffalo News
Unofficially, the Bills blitzed a whopping 32 times in the 52 times Leftwich dropped back to pass. The Bills sent five men 19 times and six or more 13 times. Many of the blitzes were so well-timed and the Bucs' offensive line was apparently so confused that defenders were often untouched en route to the quarterback.

Bucs head coach gives credit to Bills fans – Inside The Bills
"We got hurt with penalties on offense," said Morris. "This is a loud place and we knew that all week. The false starts hurt us and stopped a couple drives. The crowd noise was definitely a factor. Discipline was an issue and we need to clean it up."

Bullet points from the game including a memo to Trent to get out of bounds or slide feet first.

Whitner comments on burglary of his home – Inside The Bills
"I think it’s two isolated incidents," Whitner said. "I wouldn’t say its fans or anything so I don’t want to point any fingers. But the fact of the matter is something happened. It’s very disappointing."

Poz already working out – Inside The Bills
"They’re going to take it week to week, I was allowed to work out today," said Posluszny. "Now we’re slowly going to work out, do some cardio, get the arm movements back and when I see doc next Sunday he’ll give me the next update and tell me what I can do next."

Trent’s production – Inside The Bills
Though it’s only been two games Trent has 4 passing TD’s in the first 2 weeks. The last time a Bills starting QB had that many in the first 2 weeks was Drew Bledsoe in 2002. The last time any Bills starting QB had more than that, was Jim Kelly in 1993 (5).

WBEN NewsRadio 930 : Buffalo & Niagara Falls, NY - DA: No Charges in McKelvin Lawn Job
"based upon the wishes of the victim, the nature of the offenses, the age of the offenders, their lack of a criminal record, their remorse, their willingness to each perform 120 hours of community service, and upon the consultation with the Town of Hamburg Police Department, criminal prosecution is presently declined."

Bills lose Brad Butler | ProFootballTalk.com
The development could accelerate efforts by the team to sign veteran Jon Runyan. The Bills also might get into the mix for veteran tackle Damion McIntosh.

Bills O-line gets even less experienced - AFC East - ESPN
If they don't sign any outside help the Bills will have a combined 51 starts on their line heading into their Week 3 matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

Bills RT Butler to miss season with knee injury - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
The Buffalo Bills’ retooled offensive line will go through another shuffle now that starting right tackle Brad Butler(notes) will miss the rest of the season because of a right knee injury.

Bills notebook: Butler may be out for a while | Buffalo News
Wide receiver Lee Evans' 32-yard touchdown in the first quarter made him the fifth player in Bills history with 300 career receptions. Evans joined Reed (941), Moulds (675), Thomas (456) and Metzelaars (302) in the 300 club.  Evans' touchdown reception was the 33rd of his career. Only Reed (86), Moulds (48), Elbert Dubenion (35) and Bob Chandler (34) have more on the Bills' all-time list.

T.O., Whitner help Bills beat Bucs - Sportsnet.ca
One moment it appeared as if Terrell Owens would be a non-factor in his second game with the Buffalo Bills. The next, fans were celebrating by spilling popcorn all over Ralph Wilson Stadium.

I like Sully's article

We have to remember that Fast Freddie is no spring chicken (28) in RB terms and probably shouldn’t carry a full load all season. He and Lynch in the same backfield has some exciting potential, especially with Jackson’s receiving ability. But Sully is right, we’ll have to see how Lynch takes the sharing role.

Does Jackson’s receiving ability have an impact on Parrish’s trade attempt? If you have Reed and Jackson on the field, not sure why you’d need Parrish when you could have Johnson getting some needed playing time.

It’s a good point about Roscoe and Freddy. Fred was split out in the slot a lot during training camp. Now maybe he assumes Derek Schouman’s spot in there instead of Parrish’s with the knee or maybe Shawn Nelson does. Jackson will get his touches somehow.

completely different subject

I M Bills fan in SOFLA. Bills coaches need to watch film of Indy/Fins game closely. Colts had 5 offsides all when Fins were in the “wildcat”. The Fins center starts with looking down between legs then snaps head up just before snapping the ball. Got Indy moving each time. I can’t believe it’s not considered “simulating a snap”. The Fins got away with it every time.

That’s common practice for the Colts offense, too. Saturday does that before any snap with Manning in the shotgun.
