But it would help if Jauron beat a top team now and then. His career isn't lined with signature wins. It's one long, unsightly scrawl. In Jauron's three seasons here, the Bills have played 23 games against teams that would finish the season over .500. The Bills are 2-21 in those games.

"Any time you play the Bills," Drew Brees said, "you know it’s going to be a tough, physical test. You see it in every opponent they play. It looks like, by the time the game is over, they have just beaten them up, physically. We have our work cut out for us, and we have to make sure we’re prepared."

This is key from Sully's article, Jauron needs to lead this team to victory in a big game, losing a close came won't be good enough.
“In Jauron’s three seasons here, the Bills have played 23 games against teams that would finish the season over .500. The Bills are 2-21 in those games.
That’s Jauron’s coaching signature. He beats the bad teams. When the real teams come calling, Jauron plays not to lose and generally finds a way not to win. "

The wins were over an average Jets team in 2006 and last year against SD.
Absolutely pathetic, and part of the reason he needed to be canned two years ago. Usually, we aren’t even competitive against these types of teams, either….

"As the governor of Louisiana once said, the only way Chris Kelsay can lose his job is if he got caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy."
SD finished the year 8-8, so they didn’t count. The other team above .500 we beat were the 2007 Redskins who finished 9-7. This 2-21 stat is difficult to swallow, no matter what your outlook on the team and Jauron. If there’s anything way to spin this positively, its that we have done better against teams who finished 8-8 and in essence were not losing teams and were teams with better records than ours’. In 2006, we beat the Packers and Jaguars while losing to the Titans. In 2007, we lost to the Eagles and in 2008 we beat the Chargers and Broncos. That makes us 4-2 against teams finish at .500. We’ve also played against more winning teams (23 games) than losing teams (19 games). Being 15-4 against losing teams is a fairly good sign, but despite my optimistic approach to these stats, we simply need to play better (and win) against good teams.
