Bills vs Saints: Week 3 Open Game Thread

New Orleans Saints at Buffalo Bills, Sep 27, 2009 4:05 PM EDT

Thebestteameverred_medium   No_medium
Buffalo Bills (1-1) vs New Orleans Saints (2-0)
4:05 PM ET, Ralph Wilson Stadium (TV: FOX)
Bills inactives: LB Paul Posluszny (arm), rest TBD.

The Buffalo Bills have accomplished two major feats to this point in the regular season: they have suffered crushing defeat, and they've rebounded from it.  Through two weeks, the Bills sit at .500, have proven they are talented, and have also shown just how far they have to go.

Today, they can take a major step toward contender by defeating the thus-far-undefeated New Orleans Saints.  That won't be an easy task - we've discussed all week the many intricacies of a Saints team that has been dominant in their 2-0 start.  Just because a task isn't easy, however, doesn't mean it cannot be accomplished.  There are no moral victories to be had in this matchup today, folks - this is a game the Bills must win if they're to be considered anything other than pretenders.

These Bills are out to prove something today: that they aren't the Bills of old; that they can win tough games against good teams; and that they can defend their home-field advantage.  It will take hard, fast, smart football.  They're capable of it.  But today needs to be the day where capabilities transform into achievements.  If you're at The Ralph today, we - the 12th man - can be catalysts in that process.  Be loud.  Believe this team is different.  Believe they're going to make a statement today.

This is your game thread.  Let the adrenaline flow.  GO BILLS!

I’m beyond tired of hearing about how great Drew Brees is. He was mediocre out of that dome last year and Buffalo’s D is going to make him look mediocre today. Go Bills!

You can make halftime adjustments and come out swinging. If you’re playing at home the fans are amped up so maybe they are louder for the first series by their offense. Just sayin.

THIS IS A PROFESSIONAL

and he can’t hike the ball 3 yards! Unbelievable.

We just punted the effing ball. Wow. Hangartner played one of the worst games I’ve seen by a center. Learn how to snap the ball.

It'll be just you, me, and Peter Nincompoop.

he was on the injury report this week

might have been more hurt than we thought.

He was listed as probable.

well, in that case

play someone else. Having your QB waste a third of his time trying to catch the snap each play is ridiculous.

im not arguing.....

just giving you some insight you may or may not have known.

Jauron needs to go, please! Our ONLY points came from Bobby April’s unit. Pathetic

most of my posts get deleted :(

4.5 yards per attempt

think about that!

Why do I waste my time routing for perernially a team which considers lackluster play appropriate. I must be the stupid one.

Ok This is bound to happen

I HATE TAKING OUT THE POSITIVES OF A GAME THAT WE LOST, WE’VE BEEN DOING THAT FOR THE PAST DECADE! WE STILL LOSE AND THAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE.

Though the defense did play a hell of a game, my thanks go out to them.

Same crap, different year. Lame duck Jauron was terribly outcoached today. What a joke.

I think it is inescapable: the immediate problem is the quarterback. I have now seen enough of him to reasonably conclude that he does not have the skills it takes to be a successful qb in the NFL. Ownership is the overriding problem. Absent Bill Polian, the Bills have not been any good id decades. Only time will “fire” the owner.

Look at our history

can you blame me for being optimitstic?
