Cut day action thread- league wide activity
Since the front page should and will be filled with Bills related cut day activity, I'm putting up this thread with the purpose of opening a forum for everyone to keep each other updated on any league wide information they hear in regards to cuts or trade rumors that we might find note worthy as Bills fans. With our team seemingly launching cuts and trades with more to come, the rest of the leagues activity could have a major impact on our team.
A few of the notes I'm interested in to kick things off:
Reports are saying Jags might cut tackle Tony Pashos today.
The Chiefs have supposedly put heavy hitting safety Bernard Pollard on the trade block
The Giants cut undrafted Sha-reff Rashad, he looked pretty good in preseason.
And for those who really are caught up in anti-Edwards sentiment at the moment, MRW noted in another thread that Joey Harrington was released.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I like Pashos, but I imagine he is being dropped for a reason. Any body know why?
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
no idea but
do you know if he can play either tackle spot?

Nah, he would be very Walker-like (probably worse) at LT. He might be a better run blocker than our current tackles are though.
sort of figured as much, LT just aren’t easy to come by are they? Levi Jones still on the market?

he was cut because they drafted Eugene Monroe and Eben Britton and signed LT Tra Thomas

to clarify, Rashad is a safety
and I’m interested in safeties right now because we traded Ko and I’m getting the feeling nothing might be set at this point in terms of the safety position, especially given the unpredictable nature of the FO right now.

Its about time, hasnt he been at the bottom of the league in returning?

I like Booty over Hamdan but doubt that would happen.

Booty
watched some of the vikes -cowboys game last night and Booty was far from impressive, and i thought he looked pretty scared out there, topping it off with an ugly pick 6. He probably has more upside than Gibran, but I still like our NFL Europe MVP lol
Terd Sands got flushed from Oakland

Lee Evans oddity
I was reading Chris Brown’s blog on bb.com and he linked to Lee Evans’ website. The main picture on the site is of the Bills in a quasi-huddle. Losman and Peters are each in the huddle. Instead of a picture of Evans making the one handed TD stab last year or something from pre-season he goes with a picture from the Losman/Peters era? What’s up with that?
Of course we could make things more challenging, Lisa, but then the stupider students would be in here complaining, furrowing their brows in a vain attempt to understand the situation--Seymour Skinner
Not seeing the picture? It should be on the right side of the screen. It just struck me as odd. Even if he’s not the webmaster surely he’s got some say over the pictures used.
Of course we could make things more challenging, Lisa, but then the stupider students would be in here complaining, furrowing their brows in a vain attempt to understand the situation--Seymour Skinner
Nope, not seeing any picture of a huddle or JP or JP.
I can almost guarantee that while Lee has a say over pictures being used, he probably hasn’t looked at the site closely since it’s original debut.
Jameel Cook just got cut by the Bucs. Don’t know if he is better them McIntyre or not…
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
Cedric Peerman got the axe by the Ravens… could be a good pickup.

Why would it
Hamdan has proved he’s a capable backup this preseason. Why bring in a guy that’s not any better and doesn’t know the system. So much hate for the hamdan!

I don’t hate Hamdan but I think the season is pretty much over if he has to play. Why not try to find someone who has some upside?
Of course we could make things more challenging, Lisa, but then the stupider students would be in here complaining, furrowing their brows in a vain attempt to understand the situation--Seymour Skinner
If Trent gets injured, then are season is already in trouble, regardless of who our back up is – much less our 3rd string guy. Hamdan has shown he is capable of running our offense while knowing which way to the throw the ball; considering his relationship with Trent, it would be an interesting decision to say the least.
Meh. Watching him in the preseason, he’s tiny and doesn’t play fast at all.
GB cut Tyrell Sutton, he looked good this past month

Sutton Agreed
He played very well against us. Showed much play making ability. The pack was deep in LB one reason why they are switching to a 3-4. I am not a specialist here but this guy was impressive.

Buffalo is compensatory central
With Bell, Johnson, Lankster, Ellison, and Schouman on the roster, some with bright future’s, those 6th and 7th rounders are like gold.
Two names that might warrant interest
The lesser of the two: Carey Davis, FB, from the Steelers. If we decide to keep a FB (along with dumping Rhodes), Davis would be an upgrade from McIntyre. Personally, I hope we do use a FB.
The better of the two, rookie TE Bear Pascoe, just got cut by the 49ers. He was a hopeful 3rd TE for SF. I see him as a poor man’s Jason Witten (very poor). He’s big, blocks well, and gets into the short zones well. He’s also cowboy tough. Odd that Singletary cut a tough guy like Pascoe.
If we cut a TE and still want to keep 4 TE’s, Pascoe would be who I’d go get.
