The Stupar and Bowen lovers are all pretty happy right now.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
How could those two not go on the squad? Seriously.

Some fans are probably surprised to see Stupar make it through waivers though. I am not one of those fans.
I am surprised
I wasn’t aware that there were a variety of TE on waivers for others to consider. Having Stupar on the PS is All GOOD. What the hell all he did was make plays.

I couldn’t imagine any team claiming Stupar. He’s just another mediocre talent, many of which were available league wide….

hey
at least not when schouman under preforms, we have a capable backup….

How do you know Stupar is a capable backup?

His performance vs third stringers isn’t very telling IMHO. I’m with K here.

He still caught the silly ball. Robert Royal had a hard time doing that.

Nah he could catch, he just fumbled it 90% of the time
They put Stupar on the PS so he could work on his fumbling.

So he was ok against 3rd stringers. I’m not convinced he could contribute against a starting NFL D. Maybe in time, but I don’t see it now.

he only did what he was asked to do
cant blame him he wasnt starting games. all you can ask for a backup player is to play as well as they can in the situations they are placed. doubt him all you want, but the man went out and made plays when he could, and to me that counts for something. we can all sit here and denigrate his play by saying it was against 3rd stringers, but thats all he could do, and he did it rather well

Gibby played well against the 3rd stringers. Should we be lauding him and calling him a capable player? No, probably not.
Stupar looks like your run of the mill fringe player to me.

Mediocre, maybe, but all he did was lead the NFL in receiving this preseason. If another team cut a player like that, it’d sure behoove us to take a good look.

I am with you. I posted this late last night on sireric's thread
I would not be surprised if he clears waivers and is put on the Bills’ PS.

Good point. I never thought he wouldn’t so yeah…

Hall, Bowen and Stupar were pretty obvious, the first two in particular considering what happened yesterday.
Mace and Harris were pretty obvious, too; Mace had an unexpectedly good pre-season.

Huggins surprises me a little.

Exactly. There weren’t a whole lot of attractive options on the Bills cut list I guess thinking about it. With Sargeant on IR, Palmer on the squad those are two guys that were going to be on there. What about the other DT? Derrick Jones… That would have been redundant with Mace I guess.

I had Huggins over Hawthorne.
I know I was in the minortiy but he showed me more.

I’m a little disappointed not to see Derrick Jones on there. He looked like he had some game in him.
Wouldn't it be ironic if this team imploded and it had nothing to do with TO?
I’m with you on Jones. I think the reason they kept Mace is because he can fill in at both end and tackle like Spencer Johnson. He brings a little more flexibility than Jones. Hopefully everyone stays healthy and Mace won’t be needed.

Good point. I also wonder if it means they’re already thinking they may need to draft DT high next year.

With Stupar
I think the practice squad has more offensive firepower than the regular roster.

For anyone wishing to see Copeland Bryan back on the team later in the season....
….the Lions claimed him off waivers.
Of course we could make things more challenging, Lisa, but then the stupider students would be in here complaining, furrowing their brows in a vain attempt to understand the situation--Seymour Skinner
The Lions must be one of the only teams bad enough to be needing our castoffs.
Wouldn't it be ironic if this team imploded and it had nothing to do with TO?
Or the Lions could trade him, like they did with O’Connell. They seem to be monitoring the waiver wire quite a bit…
Who’d they trade O’Connell to? Are they stocking up picks?
Wouldn't it be ironic if this team imploded and it had nothing to do with TO?
Who now claim they shall keep 4 QBs, I wonder if they are going to run a modified wishbone with 3 of them on the field at all times.....

He’s a good fit on Detroit. Three of their DEs (DeWayne White, Ikaika Alama-Francis, Jason Hunter) are 270+ pound players. Bryan could see the field and make a bit of a difference for them as a situational pass rusher.
