I've read a lot of comments on here about our new o-line getting Trent killed, and I certainly don't disagree with that. However, I haven't read anyone discussing the fact that if he manages not to get killed, how will this new o-line affect his development as a QB. Lets look at some history first. I was never a huge JP fan, but I would have liked to know what he might have developed into if he ever had a good o-line playing in front of him. JP might have been lacking in pocket presence and decision making, but he had all of the physical tools to be a bigtime QB. I wonder how he might have developed with even an above average o-line.
So what does this mean for Trent? We all know this is a huge year in determining if he will be our QB for the future. And honestly, that is probably the biggest question for the entire organization in 2009. How are we going to know the answer to that critical question if Trent doesn't have the opportunity to play behind a solid o-line?
Are we going to find ourselves in a position where at the end of 2009, we have a top 5 draft pick and still don't know if we have our QB or if we need to draft one? Any thoughts?
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
