Mortensen, on ‘ESPN NFL Countdown’ called Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer a "sleeper" candidate in his opinion and also mentioned Dallas offensive coordinator Jason Garrett as a sleeper candidate for the job.
This is the first time Garrett has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the job. Garrett is the highest paid assistant coach in football at $3 million a year.

Garrett really makes that much?
Wow
It’s hard to envision or encourage the Bills to offer him $4m+ per year, or so, to become the HC of the team. It would take at least that, IMO, to lure him away from Dallas and the HC job there in the future. The unproven Garrett would instantly become one of the higher paid HC’s in the NFL.

"As the governor of Louisiana once said, the only way Chris Kelsay can lose his job is if he got caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy."
yeah Jones gave him that huge raise to keep him around incase things didnt work out with Phillips.......
and so that other teams wouldnt lure his coach in waiting away/
Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. - Peter Gibbons
