Frazier declines to discuss Seattle interview | StarTribune.com
Bills head coaching candidate Leslie Frazier discusses his situation in Minnesota, dodges questions about the rumors swirling in Buffalo regarding the impression he made, and wisely avoids talking about his sham interview in Seattle.
Gotta admit, folks - I like the way the dude handles himself.

You gotta feel for the guy when he’s been trotted out like a show pony for 7 interviews, only to realize he’s just a “fill in” while they get the candidate they want.
I would think that those experiences would motivate him even more to succeed as a head coach.
Of course with our luck lately … he may not join us. ;-)
Absolutely. Right now, I just want this search to end with Frazier as our HC, so we can move forward.
There's the right way, the wrong way, the army way and the Buffalo Bills way

definitely diggin this frazier cat.
don’t want to open a can of worms here, but i gotta say that I am impressed that the rooney rule hasn’t been an issue for the bills. the only guys we’ve interviewed are minority candidates (frazier, fewell). i could be wrong, but i think we can say that the rule has been transcended in buffalo.
I did. It’s gross, but yes, also awesome.

Made for Buffalo—imagine what he could do with wings
Seriously—I hope we’re fortunate enough to end up with Frazier
I doubt he’ swallow a wing whole. A hotdog is already emulsified bone, whereas a wing, well, you know-It’s bound to cause problems in digestion.

Frazier is starting to grow on me, but I gotta ask, if you were going to give the job to an assistant who doesn’t have serious pull around the league, why would you let your whole staff go? Doesn’t that increase the likelihood that every single important coach on this team will occupying a position that they’ve never had before? Isn’t that likely to stretch the rebuilding process out even longer than it is already likely to be? I’m not trying to be a downer, in fact, I’m optimistic about a guy that everybody respects, has won superbowls both as a player, and as an assistant. It’s just that this whole offseason is starting to get to me.
I have to say this:
Everyone who says that Frazier is too much like Jauron needs to read this article. DJ would give very bland and very PC answers. Frazier had very clear messages for anybody who could read between the lines. I think this guy has a little more fire to him then people give him credit for.

For what it’s worth, there’s a piece running on the Buff News Billboard that says Brian Schottenheimer may have turned down the chance to interview for the Bills job because he believed Frazier was “a lock” to get it.
The word “speculation” is written right in that blog post.

Clayton just said a bit ago on the radio that it may also have been that Wilson wanted nothing to do with Marty, so Brian wanted nothing to do with Buffalo.

He also said he knew Billick wanted the job and sounded certain, but maybe just a good actor.

you know what he should have done?
declined to interview for the Seattle job. Let the seahawks find someone else to crap all over the rooney rule.
I’m not trying to take anything away from the way he handled it- total class- but I think that would have been the optimal way.

See, how is that fair to someone else?

they can decline too.
If a team had no inclination to hire me, had essentially already named their coach, but wanted to have me come visit solely because of my race, I wouldn’t have any part of that.

I must admit...
I wasn’t too high on hiring him at first (of course I wasn’t very fond of drafting Byrd either), but I’m starting to come around. I’m just ready to move on and see what he can do. Would be interesting to say the least.
Why do today, when it can wait til tomorrow; the games on!
Why Not?
Don’t see whats so bad about hiring someone with no HC experience. Just because a coach has success in previous job does’nt insure he’ll get the same results somewhere else. Where not gonna get a “big” name coach to come to Buffalo for alot of reasons i.e. Ownership, location, location, location. did I mention Buffalo? So I can only hope we get a diamond in the rough so to speak. and I too am becoming excited about Frazier.
Fire
While I didn’t hear sound clips of the interview, I can’t imagine Jauron saying any of that.
Frazier is growing on me.
