The Buffalo Bills are on the practice field this afternoon for the first of three bye-week practices, and several players are not participating.
According to Mark Ludwiczak of CBSSports.com, eight players are sidelined. That list includes players who missed Buffalo's Week 5 loss to Jacksonville, including cornerback Terrence McGee, linebackers Keith Ellison and Arthur Moats, safety Bryan Scott and tight end Shawn Nelson.
The list also includes left tackle Demetrius Bell, right tackle Cornell Green and right guard Eric Wood. Bell and Wood have been part of a platoon throughout the entire season to date, as Bills coach Chan Gailey has worked to keep the two players - both coming off of serious, season-ending injuries in 2009 - fresh through entire games. Green missed the last few series of the Jacksonville loss, which Gailey explained away as being banged up. Cordaro Howard and Kraig Urbik have been the recipient of the lost reps from these three starters.
Buffalo will hold practices on Thursday and Friday before getting the bye weekend off. They'll then return to the practice field on Monday to continue preparations for their Week 7 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens.
