Around SBN: Ray Allen Fighting Age, Injury And His New Role

After six long weeks on the Reserve/PUP list, safety Jon Corto is back on the Bills active roster, as the team added him to the 53-man squad Friday afternoon.

To make room for Corto on the active roster the Bills waived safety Cary Harris.

If they’re keeping him for STs, I assume it’s likely he’s going to be active on game days, no?

Who would be deactivated in that case?

We're doomed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The player I would like least at #9 would be my sister’s cat, Captain Creamsicle. She does have a great work ethic and agility, but I’m really concerned that at 9 lbs., she’s too small to play safety in the NFL. She also bites way too often on play action and is easily distracted by someone waving string in the crowd. Lastly, her wonderlic score was pretty awful, answering "meow meow meow" for most of the questions- Dr. Brackish Okun

A surprise

I remember Brian predicting last summer that this was the year Corto would not make the roster and I also recall thinking that that was almost certainly right. I guess we have not fully appreciated how good Corto is on ST’s.

I know it's hard to get excited

about anything Bills, but Corto is a welcomed Special Teams players.

Maybe

Jon Corto can show some of our players how all of us fans (if blessed with the ability) would play for a team you love and not just the name of an organization that signs your paychecks. He knows that the sun is always shining on western NY when the bills are winning

Now we only have to get...

Roosevelt onto the field!!!!

Went to my first "BB" meeting today... When I stood, introduced myself, and admitted I was a Billsaholic, the other members threw beer cans at me!!

In my opinion

This is the best Bills news all year! seriously though ( with the exception of the spiller pick) I was scared Jon would get lost in the shuffle but I’m glad they held on long enough to give him a fair evaluation as well and I think we will notice him very soon. I’ll be wearing my Corto jersey this week…once again not joking

Glad to see the team kept Corto.

He’s a guy worth rooting for.

I'd have thought they'd cut Corto to keep Harris instead of the other way around

But I guess he’s just really good on special teams. Corto, while a good story, sucks on defense.

This also could have been an example of throwing the cookies out. I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I’m trying to drop some weight and I have some cookies in the cupboard that I DO but DON’T want to eat, I’ll try giving them away and short of that, just throw them out. I figure, better to waste a little money than to have something around that is just going to get me in trouble knowing its in my cupboard.

My guess is they decided that Harris who is easily replaceable. Now they will evaluate the usefulness of Corto going into the future in game situations. Once again, auditions extending into the season….which I’m totally OK with at this point.

Harris hasn't done anything all year.

Meanwhile Corto has always been and will most likely continue to be a very large contributor to special teams. Good move.
