Reason for Fitzpatrick's Success

I was pondering today why Ryan Fitzpatrick has looked so good the past few weeks and one possible big contributor to this may be the swift cutting of Trent Edwards. I don’t think that he is scared for his job, but rather that he senses and sees the confidence displayed toward himself for possibly the first time in his career. Fitz could have easily failed in these games, and we would be in big trouble and would only have Brohn to fall back on (whose name has not even been whispered around here in the past 4 weeks due to the success of Fitz), but he has not and has been one of the top 5 QB’s in the league in that time frame.

I think that Fitz feels this is the best opportunity he has ever had in his professional career and is taking full advantage of it. Of course he has tried his hardest when he was in last year, but something is different this time and the guys around him are really responding, he has not done this by himself.

What ya think, does this have anything to do with it?

Either way, I’m lovin watching him play and think this is a great chance for us to have a solid guy to lean on for a few years while Gailey brings along a guy like Locker or Luck.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
