the buzz is spreading. read and enjoy a bit more about fitz and his harvard experience.

one of the most fascinating aspects of the story is how fitz, after finally starting his junior season, was urged by his head coach to attend the payton manning passing academy, which was largely filled with high school players, but elite QB prospects from across the country. it was an eye opener for fitz, and made him realize where he ranked relative to many of the already acknowledged young stars in the game.

in his senior season, fitz was ivy league player of the year. he led his team to a 10-0 record, and finished as harvard's all time passing yards leader.

fitz's performance put him on the radar of nfl scouts, and it was at the 2005 combine where the buzz about The Fitz truly got serious: he was smart as all heck. leaving one question blank he scored 48 of 50 on the wonderlick test, doing the exam in only 9 minutes, leaving The Fitz only behind a former Harvard punter Pat McInally (1975) who scored a perfect 50.

picked by the rams in the 7th round, the 250th pick overall, he became the first harvard player picked since 2000, and he remains the last one selected in the nfl draft at this date.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
