This whole mess reminds me of what went down with the Chargers a few years back. The year after the Ryan Leaf debacle, Butler went out and built the "San diego Bills". He drafted the best running back available (LT) and handed Doug Flutie the keys to a jalopy. He sat back and had a chance to grade all the left over players. Of course, it worked out a lot better for them at first, (what were they, 5-0 or something?) but then, of course, reality set in, and let's face it, none of our guys can make half the "something out of nothing" moves that Flutie could. As one of our fellow Rumblers pointed out, this is nothing but very long, painfully extended preseason. In the not very long run, it turned out that Butler knew what he was doing. I think Nix learned from that.( I hope I'm right about his anyway) He didn't think Clausen was the man. Only time will tell if he was right. There were only so many choices to made last draft. We also know that the Free Agent line will be a lot longer next year. The point of this? CHEER UP! Have fun with it. Anyone know the owner of Tops? There's lots of business to be had with cut out faces on paper bags this year. So what will you do? How will you handle it?
