The Bills are better than their record indicates

Hello, Bills fans. I'm a diehard Lions fan and wanted to just come over and say hi. I see that the Bills are going through a tough year in Chan Gailey's first year as head coach and I really can sympathize having going through the NFL's first 0-16 season just 2 seasons ago.

I think the Bills are missing some pieces, obviously, but they also have a few pieces in place that they can build off for the future. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is having a better season than Carson Palmer, which he used to back up for him in Cincy. I like his field awareness a lot, this kid also has a decent arm to match his ability to scramble. That Steve Johnson guy is an absolute beast and I'm sure has a lot of great years a head of him. I haven't seen a receiver that good in Buffalo since Eric Moulds played there.

Both running backs Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller have home run threat ability. I liked C.J. less than Jahvid Best out of college and I still do, but I believe he will be a good choice for Buffalo in the future. The offense in Buffalo has a lot of potential and once they get a defense to match that offense, I think the Bills could be a contender in the AFC East. Unfortunately, they play in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL and it may take time.

The defense has a few bright spots, though not as much as the offense. Linebacker Paul Posluszny is a very good player and one that I was hoping STUPID Matt Millen wopuld've drafted a few years back, but he drafted QB Drew Stanton instead. Posluszny has the ability to make every tackle and rarely makes mistakes. The secondary is the best of this bunch with Jarius Byrd, Terrence McGee, Leodis McKelvin, and Donte Whitner all being decent players on a bad team. I think the lack of pass rush and lack of run defense makes this group look much worse than they really are, but they have a bright future together.

I hope things work out for the Buffalo Bills this season and they manage to win some games, obviously not this Sunday, but going 0-16 hurts more than anybody can imagine. It is hard as a fan of your team to sit and watch them lose every game all season long and I don't wish that upon you Bills fans. Though I doubt that they will go 0-for a season but you never know. I never thought the 2008 Lions would do that but with Matt Millen in charge that's very possible. Hey, at least you don't have to worry about that douche bag running the show, right guys?

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
