Aaron Maybin, one of the 50 worst NFL players of all time
I don't know if you can call it just yet, but if his career ended today I wouldn't argue this placement. Might be his greatest NFL honor

I didn’t look closely, because I think posts like that are stupid – I know Maybin and Flowers were in there; who was third? Has to be Mike Williams, right?

Here’s the kicker, Williams did’t even make the list.

There's a lot more than 3.
Bruce Mathison
Joe Danelo
Neil O’Donoghue
Matt Robinson
Erik Flowers
Aaron Maybin
And considering there are 32 NFL teams now (and less in the past) and that bad NFL players tend to play for multiple teams, 6 is still very low. The Jets have 13.
That being said, Maybin should be much higher.

Dumb article. I can think of a bunch of bills players that should be on this list. It seems like the author just picked names out of a hat. Mike Williams not being on the list or Ryan Leif or Jeff George, and pretty much anyone drafted by the bengals (clearly not everyone but still a lot) is ridiculous.
Jeff George played for 12 seasons in the NFL and once led the league in yards passing and was near the top in many other categories that year. That doesn’t make him anywhere near the 100 worst players of all time. He’s probably not even one of the worst 100 QBs ever.

Jeff George is most certainly
nowhere near the 100 worst QBs ever.

I hope Maybin reads this article on deadspin (all the kids do!) and gets his head out of his #ss.

Maybin
cant be on the list after two years. He just can’t. This just goes to show, one journalist says one stupid thing and they all run with it……….

I think
he deserves top 25 on this list so far
There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.

Why can't he?
He can’t even be active on game day. He’s been paid almost $1 million dollars per tackle in his career. If anything he’s not high enough on the list.

Maybin fully deserves this honor. In no way has he instill ANY confidence in ANY of his coaches. This isn’t a situation where he’s in the doghouse with one coach. Jauron, Fewell, and now Gailey have seen fit to keep him off the field.
It shouldn’t be a shock to us that he’s failing. The likelihood that it would happen was just as great as him succeeding in the NFL.

Sure he can,
The fact he was drafted as sophomore pretty much says he is gonna bust if he can’t get on the field. People like Mario Williams who had much more playing time in college and a better athletic talent level still took a couple years to adjust to the NFL.
Maybin with almost 1 season of playing time in college, and can’t get on the field now. He’s toast.
MAJOR BUST.
Whoever thought taking him was a good idea should think about what taking a sophomore with limited playing time that is a pass rusher, might not be a good idea.
I see BUST written all over Robert Quinn too, slightly less than Maybin, but the bust factor probability is high. For pass rushers give me seniors or juniors who have at least 3 years of starting in college if a junior or 2 if a senior before I would even consider them.
It’s unreal that Brian says the Bills loved Pettigrew and Clay Matthews JR, and we somehow ended up with Maybust.

the only thing thats crazy
to me, Pettigrew and Clay are guys that would have been considered around the Eric Wood slot. The only thing thats crazy to me is that every single person and their mother was high fiving because we had Brian Orakpo and they took Maybin.

yea ok
this article is really useless
Shuler, a congressman from North Carolina, apparently wants to be House minority leader. Based on his football career, which included 15 touchdowns, 33 interceptions, and a perpetual look of utter bafflement, this might be a bad idea.
Right, being a good athlete has everything to do with being a Congressman.

I loved the article
It’s actually a really clever article considering the guy had to research every player and write a paragraph giving a little background on them (some of which have basically disappeared into the ether). Instead of gushing about how great the player was which wouldn’t make sense of course he’d insult them.
Heres my thing: How much info is there on the top 100 players? There have been 1000s of lists and 1000s of hours spent debating it, this very site has spent hours making their top list and here this guy tries to do something fairly novel.
The guy was not actually saying that because Shuler or whoever is running for the House minority leader that he will fail because he was a bad player, I don’t think he particularly cares. He was making a joke. Does anyone have a sense of humor anymore? I mean are these players, are these busts really held in such high regard that we can’t dare question and mock MILLIONAIRES and failures at their profession?
