Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson has been making the media rounds over the past couple of days thanks not just to his eight-catch, 137-yard, three-TD performance in Cincinnati, but for his ultra-awesome "Why So Serious?" touchdown celebration. The celebration, more than anything, has made him the proverbial viral hit of the NFL this week.
In addition to the various appearances he's made that you've likely seen already, Johnson also joined The Michael Irvin Show on WQAM in Miami to talk about his play in Cincinnati. The topic of conversation eventually landed on quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Johnson paid his quarterback a big compliment. Sort of.
"Ryan Fitzpatrick is a nerd," Johnson quipped. "He's too much of a nerd to be a failure. The kid is a gamer, man. He slings the ball everywhere, he keeps everybody alive, and he's doing things as a quarterback that every receiver would want - and that's putting it in the air, putting it in perfect places. And that's all you really ask for from your quarterback as a receiver, and as a running back - we've got running backs coming out of the backfield also. So he's just a receivers' quarterback."
You can listen to Johnson's entire appearance on The Michael Irvin Show here. He had an interesting take on Terrell Owens' purpose in Buffalo last year, as well.
