Buffalo Bills Add DT Kellen Heard
Just because it's Saturday doesn't mean the Buffalo Bills aren't making roster moves. Today the club signed DT Kellen Heard off the Oakland Raiders practice squad. To Make room for the defensive lineman the team waived LB Thomas Williams.
In the team's press release they called the 6' 6", 355-pound Heard a "very strong anchor type interior defensive lineman."
Heard is probably best-remembered for a hit he put on Colt McCoy while Heard was at Texas A&M and McCoy at Texas. Here's a video of the blatant late hit.
Williams dressed for the previous two games recording no statistics. He could still be re-signed to the Bills practice squad as they have an opening.

This is a big, big dude
Was a former big time recruit that I believe went to Texas A&M before transferring to Memphis for his senior season. He played both sides of the ball for the Tigers.
Not a bad player to bring in for a look on the active roster, but it’s kind of weird timing. He certainly has some upside especially in a 3-4 D.
Maybe they signed him in case Colt McCoy plays, so he can hit him really late?

Dude I just added that hit to the post! :-)

Heard dat!
Seriously, I am going to the game tomorrow. We’re gonna get revenge for the last time we played the Brauns. Got tickets off of eBay for 18 bucks. That won’t happen next season, mark my words.

I saw 3 section 103 tickets for 11$ each, that is super cheap.

Yuuk
after watching that, I don’t want any part of this guy on the Bills.
Go Buffalo Bills, Utah Jazz, and Arkansas Razorbacks
To be fair, it was an interception play….on the replay chosen in the post, it makes it seem like he just runs him randomly….but when he started after him, his player had the ball in his hands and he turned his back. Click on one of the other links after the replay for that. That having been said, when everyone stops running, it should have been clear to him the play was over.

Practice squad potential
Once again a diamond in the rough pickup, this time a Defensive Tackle with some incredible size and height. Put this guy on the Kyle Williams weightlifting program in a hurry. Pile as many free agents, undrafted players, and cut bench warmers as you can, the Bills can address most of their draft needs and free agent acquisitions after the regular season. The last great defensive lineman the Bills had from Texas A&M was Sam Adams lets see how well he develops.
He is on the active roster, not practice squad. And he must stay on active roster for 4 weeks I believe.

tactical move
with him on the team and snow in the forecast, they won’t have to clear as much snow from the sideline or bench.
