New Feature: Facebook Connect on SB Nation
Connect makes it easier for you share what you write on SB Nation with friends on Facebook, whether you're publishing a FanPost, a FanShot or a comment. You decide what you share. And your Facebook info stays over on Facebook.

And the forceful social netwroking continues
Soon enough we’ll never have to actually see another person, we’ll just be hooked up to a computor from birth and never leave the home.

Well, it’s not like it’s mandated. :)

Ironically that was my first thought.

Seems to be jacking up all the margins and profile pages on SBNation. Anyone else experiencing this? I havent even connected with facebook yet either…
"Hey ey ey ey"
It’s definitely not the new features. It’s the ads. The tech team is working on it.

Finally! I have been hoping to find a way to cut down on all my extra going-from-Rumblings-to-Facebook-to-post-the-same-thought! How fantastic! This new feature will save me loads of time!

If you’re logging into both places, it does. One login now.
What’s with all the sarcasm? (Not just you, but from everybody.)

It seems, at first glance, like a redundant feature that might be a privacy concern to some people.
a.k.a. Undee
Well, again, no one has to do it.
And it most definitely isn’t a privacy concern, though I’d be happy to field questions on that front.

No one has to do it, but why is it necessary? How ever thought this would improve SBN? When does Buffalo Rumblings content need to be instantly linked to Facebook?
a.k.a. Undee
Well its not necessary
And doesn’t have to be linked to Facebook. However, some people would like to link the two and show their writing on Facebook. Again, nobody has to do this. Its just another feature to bring more users and utilize different platforms to get your voice heard.

Again, nobody has to do this.
I understand this point clearly. How many people would stop coming here if they had to post at both sites at once?
The one point I am understanding is it is a way to bring in more users. I just don’t think it is worth it if it dilutes networking and contextual blogging.
a.k.a. Undee
Now that I think about it,
wouldn’t it be even better if Facebook comments could be shared here as well?
a.k.a. Undee
Well, first and foremost, it’s a Facebook product – the idea is to bring content in, not export it out.
The benefit for you, if you choose to use the feature, is that if you toss up a FanPost and wanted to post about your excellent writing on Facebook, you can do it in one spot. You can do it with comments as well.

To me, this is not Facebook’s place. It’s the idea that all information and communication has to be funneled to the same site. Facebook is already too overwhelming, between ‘what color calf was born on Julie’s farm,’ and ‘what mafia war Joey is playing,’ and ‘what Aunt Linda made for dinner.’ Now I have to deal with more content that is most likely out of context.
I love me some Buffalo Rumblings. Let’s keep it here.
a.k.a. Undee
You still have the option to keep Rumblings Rumblings. And yeah – Facebook can be a little crazy.
And I certainly won’t be putting everything I do here onto Facebook – just more note-worthy stuff.

I dont see why anyone would be against or question this? Its nothing you have to do. And if one of my friends joins Buffalo Rumblings or DBTB because they see a comment relating to it on facebook then thats cool. IDK seems like a good idea to me.
And those coincidental margin errors are gone now. Good job tech-team.
"Hey ey ey ey"
Thanks!
We’ll be keeping an eye on things. Let us know if anyone here on BR has comments on the new Facebook functionality, or anything else. Thanks for your patience!

Yes...
And it won’t stay closed. And even when you can manage to close it for a second, it has prevented me from opening the first two fanposts.
Advertisers are needing to create new methods to catch peoples attention on the internet. Sometimes it really hampers the experience.
a.k.a. Undee
Me too
Those expanding ads are the devil.
I also got one of those ads that you have to click “Skip Ad” before being able to read a fanpost. Too much advertising creep!!!
