I think that we should try to develop both. I`m positive that with the right coaching at least one of the two will develop into a solid starter. They just need another season as backups, at least.

You could not tender Scott and then sign him for the minimum later and bring him in for camp.

But ill add Denney. I think he might be able to do something as a reserve in the 3-4. He’ll come cheap, so I dont think it would be too bad. But wouldnt think anything of it if he wasnt re-signed either.

He came in the league as a WR. He switched to safety a few years ago so he could stick on the roster.

I love how they list Wilson as a WR.

It’s too bad that this is going to be an uncapped year because Buffalo would be in pretty good shape for a big roster overhaul if there were more FAs available. We’re losing an older guy in TO and a bunch of overpaid backup types. It’s not all that much money coming off the books, but there isn’t one player who Buffalo needs to resign.

I hope they bring Scott back, but the other UFAs can walk. I think Buffalo can do better at DE than Ryan Denney.

I’m curious to see what they do with Ellison. I could take him or leave him. About half of the 3-4 teams kept a “LB” last year who was only useful on special teams and I don’t think anybody kept more than one. So there could be one spot to win for the Ellison’s, Corto’s, Palmer’s and Harris’ of the world, but that’s about it.

I’m for signing Wilson, Scott, and Denney for sure, probably Cogs and Schouman, and possibly Reed, Simmons, and Youboty (who can be a great tackler and playmaker when he is healthy)
