I need some clarification from my fellow Rumblers related to our switch to a 3-4 defense.
There has been a lot of talk about our current personnel, and I need some clarity. Trading Kyle Williams has been a popular opinion voiced by many here, but is it true that he can't transition to an end in a 3-4?
How difficult would it be for Schobel to make the transition to a 3-4 OLB?
Can Denney or Kelsay be serviceable in any way?
I ask these questions because I'm hopeful that some of our current players can make this transition so the team can focus on two things:
- Improving the quality of our offense (OT, QB, and WR)
- Address depth issues on both sides of the ball
While the players listed above may not be ideal for a 3-4, some are still very talented and would likely be better than affordable free agents are late draft picks. For example, even though Kyle Williams isn't your typical 3-4 end, would he be better than other options we could afford?
I don't have enough knowledge of the techniques and measurables that fit a 3-4, so any and all input is appreciated.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
