Lynch's Offseason
I feel that the only way we should keep Marshawn Lynch over the next two years is if he follows a few guidelines:
1. I feel that Lynch needs to drop down to between 200 and 210. He looks to have lost a step over the last couple years. In college Lynch was a speed back and a power back built into one. He also ran a 4.4 40 but definitely does not look like that type of back. It's probably because of the muscle he's added since college. I would love to see him get back to that speed back and be able to hit the holes with speed like I've seen him do in college. He can still have the Beast Mode at a lower weight because he has that drive unlike other runners. This is more of wishful thinking because he seems to love this extra muscle but it'd be better for the Bills and Marshawn if he drops some weight and gets a few steps back to break big runs like I'd love to see.
2. Although I believe that this step will be much more difficult and most likely lost on Marshawn. He should try to improve his image in the community of Buffalo and across the country. First, the Buffalo coaching staff should set him up with a mentor to help guide him in the right direction with his life and his money. Also, he should start doing some community service in order to gain some respectability back within the community and with the fans.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Plan
Marshawn should stay outa trouble, Grab that thing called a football and run like hell. I’m tired of hearing about Lynch the person, I don’t know him. All I care about is what he does on the field. That’s were the problem lays , his on field performance, if he’s not smart enough to stay outa trouble, see ya. Let’s hope we draft a good rookie. Beats hiring babysitters….
buffalobacker,
his off the field issues should concern you. Hes 1 more screwup away from a long term suspension. Stealing 20 bucks from that woman a couple months ago shows that he hasnt grown up yet. He is a great talent. I hope he gets his head together.
Well
like I stated if he screws up , adios. I fully expect OBD will have someone to replace him. Therefore I really don’t care about his personel issues, they’re just that personel.

Adding muscle should not be a problem and should not make you slower
I am sure the Bills know what his body fat percentage is, therefore whether he has added muscle or fat.
If we end up with Vick, T.O., Richie I., and Porter….that is really pushing the dbag density limit for one team.
Depends upon the training method...
Assuming all/most of the weight he added was muscle, if he didn’t include foot-speed work with his off-season routine and focused only on slower-motion weight/power training (another black mark against the former strength/conditioning coaches?), he very well could have lost some burst. It’s usually possible to get the speed back again, but needs to become a training focus and could take a little longer than expected.

Well if they were training him like he was going to enter the Mr. Universe contest
then yeah….but nobody at that level could be that dumb….could they???

It makes sense
To me it makes a lot of sense that ML’s size will affect his speed and mobility, and I also agree that at college – when we drafted him back in 2008, he looked more of a speed"star."
Maybe now that we have our 2 new fitness coaches, (strength & conditioning) they will change his regime?
I Believe
You can increase muscle mass and still maintain your speed. I don’t think ML was ever a speed back, more a power runner. But I could be wrong. He just needs some holes I’m quessing or a passing game to go with a running game.
I think a lot of the problem is an issue that was raised earlier in another thread — we are seeing Dance Mode instead of Beast Mode because he wants to hit that home run and get his starting job back. Although he may do that occasionally, it didn’t come from specifically saying that was the point of that play. It came on plays where you thought he was going to get three and stop but BOOM, thirty yard TD run. Or on plays where the defense gets caught just slightly out of position and BOOM, he’s past you.
"Dance Mode"
Good term . Well put. Thats what Im seeing, too.
Lose Five Pounds in Five Minutes
If he would shave off all that hair he would be five pounds lighter right away! Maybe six pounds lighter because his helmet could get smaller, too.
Hes Fat
I think he added some fat along with his muscle because, if any one saw the episode of Hanging 10 when he raced Kyle Williams in the pool he looked pretty fat to me.
