A Salute to krytime
Nine authors of Buffalo Rumblings laid their reputations on the line, but only one man emerged unscathed and with eight months' worth of bragging rights. Congratulations to krytime, who is this year's picks competition winner thanks to the erroneous right arm of Brett Favre.

A few of the losing authors were kind enough to send a salute krytime's way following his victorious season.

MattRichWarren: Let's just say he made me kry. That's how much he killed me by.

sireric: Does it really feel like this has been over two years ago? I think I can honestly say that this is the only disagreement kry and I ever had, which means that I know he is right most of the time - in fact, every time except once. His dominance in the picks this year is just proof of that. Congrats, brother.

Ron From NM: From all of us - a hearty well done on thwarting Brian!

WABillsfan: Kry won, I lost. In fact, I think everyone beat me. Oh well; at least I still look better than everyone else.

Kurupt: "Kry is a conqueror? No. I'm Alexander, he's no Alexander! I'm the best ever! There's never been anybody as ruthless. I'm Sonny Liston, I'm Jack Dempsey, there's no one like me - I'm from their cloth. There's no one that can match me! My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious! I want your heart! I want to eat his children! Praise be to Allah!" Congrats Kry. We'll be gunning for you next year.

Brian Galliford: Eric - dominance is a little strong. Ron - you're banned. Kry - I shall unleash hell in 2010. But congrats and whatnot.

Imagine how they felt :(

Was going to write a post on Bills connections in the Super Bowl but have been swamped this week.

Saints: DB Jabari Greer, DE Anthony Hargove, DB Pierson Prioleau and Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams went 17-31 as Bills HC

Colts: GM Bill Polian was Bills GM in late 80s/early 90s, former QB Frank Reich, former TE Pete Metzelaars, Old S&C coach Jon Torine

Indianapolis also has a couple of UB Bulls on there active roster Drew Wiley and Jamey Richard so that’s also a connection for some of us who went to UB and pull for the Bulls. I’m going with Indy because of there previous Super Bowl experience and of course I think Peyton just won’t allow his team to lose but it will be a very good game…..Indy 38 Saints 31……everyone enjoy and also please don’t Drink and Drive.

So we can finally put to bed this Brady-Manning question of who is better.

Manning, it’s not even a contest. By the time Manning is done he will be known as the best ever. Brady wont even be in a discussion for the top 5.

by CanadianBillsFan on Feb 7, 2010 10:57 AM EST up reply actions

Not even in the discussion in the top 5? You clearly don’t think he is a top 5 QB of all time but with three rings, the best offense in history and with 50 td’s in a season, I’d season he makes the conversation. That said, Manning should solidify his status as No.1.

Ok yes he’s in the conversation. But my top 5 of all time go like this
1. Payton Manning
2. Joe Montana
3. Dan Marino (Dammit!)
4. Frank Tankerton
5. Jim Kelly

Honourable mentions to: Tom Brady, Steve Young and John Elway

by CanadianBillsFan on Feb 7, 2010 5:36 PM EST up reply actions

And for some reason I forgot two from that list. So here’s the revised edition

1. Payton Manning
2. Joe Montana
3. Brett Favre
4. Dan Marino
5. Johny Unitas

New honourable mentions: Tom Brady, Steve Young, John Elway, Frank Tanketon, Jim Kelly.

Until Peyton wins some more super bowls

Joe Montana is still the best QB I have ever seen play the game.

If I could have any QB in his prime, it would be Montana.

Peyton Manning is the greatest. I would trade an entire years worth of draft picks for him to play in Buffalo!

It was a disappointing season but it had its moments. My personal favorite was after every interception “Interception Buffalo! Who else? Jairus Byrd!!”

I drank entirely too much last night. Today is all about appetizers and fluids(non-alcoholic ones). I think that Tonght is going to be a great game and just as exciting as last years. I want to that Brian, MRW, and all of the other editors, authors, and moderators for a great football season. I am excited for the draft season now. To me, this is going to be the most exciting one since Drew Bledsoe was brought in. I appreciate all of the time you guys put into Buffalo Rumblings.

Who Dat....

This is the first SB that I can remember that I don’t care who wins and that I’m
just looking forward to watching two exciting teams. Due to the Bills being a
AFL/AFC team my allegiance has always been to that conference. Everyone is expecting
a shootout with Manning & Brees putting up big numbers but both teams can play
exceptional defense. The Saints have more weapons due to the running attack and the
Colts have the better defense of the 2 teams—-with DE Freeney hurting the Saints
will take advantage.

Saints get the ball last and Brees takes them down field for the winning TD. Manning
produces big numbers but due to the lack of a running game the Colts struggle in the
Red Zone…

Saints (+5)31 Colts 27

Today’s Menu…

Cheese Tray which includes Salami & provolone sent to me from B-Lo..

Grilled Sahlens dogs with Texas Hot sauce
Homemade pizza
Wings cooked in our rotisserie (don’t laugh) of course using Frank’s Hot Sauce
Grilled Cheese Burgers
The assorted munchies—chips, nuts, popcorn, dips etc etc
Assorted libations—-Molson Canadian, Landshark, a chilled bottle of Stoley in the Freezer and a bottle of Crown…

Ha!! Nice work guys...better than the trophy itself.

I’d like to take a moment and thank all of the little people who helped me earn this victory. This means more to me than the Most Improved Player award I won in basketball for St. Josaphat’s grammar school in 1984, and just behind the Silver Medal I won for leading my street hockey team to 2nd place at Camp Keenan in 1981. It’s obvious the dominance just continues..

Brett Favre – Thank you.

MRW – You could’ve just asked for mercy.

Sireric – I wish you would’ve quoted yourself again like you did in the piece you linked. Hard to believe that was two years ago.

Ron – Thank you. I’ll probably get banned too, but it was sweet to thwart Mr. Galliford.

WA – Who says so? I can’t imagine there’s a pretty boy amongst any of us!

K – Be careful or I’ll bite your ear off next year.

And lastly to BG – You were a worthy opponent. I’m looking forward to the hell-bringing next year. In the meantime, please continue the most excellent work you do here on the best Bills site on the web. If there was an award for that, you’d surely get it, and that would even beat my Silver from Camp Keenan (although you wouldn’t get a kiss on the cheek from Ted Darling’s daughter Wendy like I did).

SHE: “Because he’s my team’s arch-nemesis!” (She’s a Patriots fan. And yet somehow we’re still friends. Go fig, as they say.)

If we end up with Vick, T.O., Richie I., and Porter….that is really pushing the dbag density limit for one team.

other half of post left off…..if Jauron ever got to the SB, can you see him calling onside kick to start the half (or ever!!!)?

Anthony Hargrove

This bum just won a Super Bowl. Where is the justice?

Congrats to Jabari Greer, however.

That bum would have been 2nd on the Bills in sacks this year

To be fair being 2nd on the Bills in sacks is so easy most cavemen could do it.

There was no point

Just saying he was at least semi-productive if a backup role.

Super Bowl 25 Repeat

Saints kept the high power Colts offense off the field with a steady offense and tough defense. Watching Manning on the bench was like seeing Kelly on the sideline.

Payton is truly a Parcells disciple.
