Kennedy leaves town...
Sounds like OBD couldn't tell him he would be a starter? Or maybe it was the money offer. Do we still trust in OBD or is this a situation where the Player is in the driver's seat? I am curious what everyone believes or is it too early to tell until more information is released.
I can't believe I am disappointed over losing a depth FA, but like most here, I need to see some building blocks, no pun intended, start being put in place so we have some kind of foundation before Draft day.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Puzzled
What the hell is going on. OBD spent $3mil a year on one of the most penalized OT in the league. How much could Kennedy have been asking for?
Left
If he’s gone, it sounds like no deal. Yeah it’s not looking good. But alot of people didn’t see it as a good signing anyways. That said I’d love to see some acquisitions….
Sounds like OBD couldn’t tell him he would be a starter?
Good. Because a journeyman backup shouldn’t be guaranteed the starting spot.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
Agree
He probably wanted a guaranteed starting spot and guaranteed starting NT money, which is ridiculous for this guy.

i have no faith in OBD
even if he was not a huge FA ,

Kinda jumping to conclusions, aren’t you? Until we here some specifics, it’s anybodies guess why he left unsigned. I don’t see how anyone can automatically blame OBD. From Kennedy’s own comments, it sounded like the Bills did everything they could to convince him to sign.

i guess i dont care
if anything they need to do something that looks to the public they are trying
im just overall confused

I don’t want the Bills making decisions to placate the fan base.

Let's step back and breath
OK… This could just be a move by Kennedy to try to squeeze OBD for a couple more bucks. I am willing to be patient and see how it plays out.
In fairness to OBD, they can’t offer guys a warm/fuzzy feeling aboout a “ring” and they have had very little stability over the last few years. Throw in that our owner has “issues” including this ridiculous “circle of trust” crap and Nix is really fighting a hard battle.
In the end though, I am all about results, no whining… OBD needs to provide and answer at NT and so far they have not. They brought in a new coach who wants to switch schemes, it is their priority to fill positions to allow Chan to be able to suceed.
All-in-all I am not going to pass judgement on the Kennedy situation until he signs (where ever that may be) and he let’s us know what his thoughts are.
I got nothing.

Keys words : So Far.
Even if Kennedy doesn’t sign with the Bills it isn’t the end of the world. You should wait until the season is ready to start before passing judgment, not just until Kennedy signs (where ever that is).
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
Look… I will be critical until they start answering the many questions out there… I have no reason to provide CHIX the benefit of the doubt…
I got nothing.

Again, I will not be critical of

OBD until we know more
If Kennedy was asking Wilfork money, then CHIX were right to let him go. Maybe he will see what the next team offers and get back to us. You have to remember, the guy would be leaving a SB caliber team with a real shot at a ring. Pat W is not getting any younger and Kennedy has a good chance of seeing the field more this season in MN as part of that rotation. It would probably take a good chunk of money to make him come to the Bills and pretty much give up on getting a ring.

Joe… basically what I was saying…
Although, I will be critical in the fact that OBD has not provided answers to any of the amazing amount of voids we have (other than a mediocre at best RT/reserve).
I got nothing.

Right....guess I wasn't being clear
I was trying to agree with you and add to your point.

My goodness
I don’t even know how you can stand commenting here, or even following the Bills anymore. I understand that you have a right to your opinion and that we are here in the public domain, so you can say whatever you want, but your constant negativity of late has been a big drag.
Provide a reason to be positive… I am being realistic about the situation. You should see what I said about Kennedy… I was very enthusiastic about the possibility of him being in Buffalo… As I stated many times… OBD prove me wrong.
I got nothing.

actually, you do. it’s called waiting until you actually have details of the situation before making a judgment. They don’t owe anybody answers, they just need to build a winning team.

Maybe I shouldn’t have pinned it on CHIX… I have NO REASON to provide OBD the benefit of the doubt. To the contrary I have every reason to be skeptical, especially of Wilson, Brandon, and Modrak.
I got nothing.

You miss the point
A plain simple fact that is completely indisputable even by you :
The Bills have an entire off-season to fill out the roster. An entire off-season.
That means that the roster is not made or lost in the first week of free agency. It’s not about giving them the benefit of the doubt, it is about giving them the full amount of allotted time to do what they have to do. You can drive yourself and everyone else around here nuts with your denial of that simple fact but the truth is that the draft is still over a month away, then there is another batch of roster cuts, followed by yet even more cuts just before teams set their rosters.
the fact that people around here get up in arms over guys like Wade Smith and Jimmy Kennedy is unfathomable to me. Give them time, you don’t have to give them your trust, just time.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
Let’s be serious… The top talent is gone within a week or two after free agency starts. Sure, we can find some quality guys after that, but in reality if we want starters, those guys are going to dry up quickly.
I got nothing.
by Jason from OH-IO on Mar 13, 2010 11:05 PM EST up reply actions
Yes,... lets be serious
Did you expect to see the Bills sign guys like Julius Peppers, or Karlos Dansby? Because if you did then I have to ask who isn’t being serious. The plan that was obvious to most of us, was to be patient and pick up bargain players while rebuilding through the draft. I expect to see more free agent signings after the draft when the Bills have a better idea of what holes they need to fill in with cheap vets.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
maybe if he wanated a ring
he should have lived up to his pick

Perfect I didn’t want that bust anyway.

u know…id rather see a rotation of Williams, Harvey, and say Cam Thomas if they can grab him in the second round. Kennedy can fill the gap, but I dont think he could be the starter because this guy wears out easily…even if he is signed we would still need a viable backup on the downs this guy is out of breath. Did anyone watch him play in MN last year? So maybe CHix knows something, they say he likes williams and has a role in mind for him, if thats the case there is no need to throw money at a guy that could get beat out in camp by harvey or a williams/thomas rookie.
eh
im ok with this. he wasnt the end all to NT possibilities. and if he wanted too much money, he can walk. he would probably get paid more here than anywhere else, so i guess its more about the ring. where else is he planning on going?
