DELHOMME SIGNS WITH CLEVELAND

WELL I PERSONALLY WAS FOR THIS BUT ITS NOT HAPPENING FOR SURE NOW.  I DID HAVE ISSUES WITH HIS TURNOVERS BUT I THINK HE WAS THE BEST POSSIBILITIY FOR US.  JUST WATCHING HIM THROW 325 YARDS AGAINST US THIS PAST SEASON MADE ME WANT HIM FOR SURE.  ALTHOUGH HE DID THROW 2 OR 3 INTERCEPTIONS YOU GOTTA GIVE PROPS TO BYRD ON THAT ONE.  ANYWAYS, THIS IS MY FIRST POST AND IM SURE IM GOING TO GET SLACK FOR WANTING DELHOMME BUT WHATEVER.  ANY BUFFALO BACKERS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA OUT THERE?  IM TIRED OF SHOWING UP IN MY JERSEY AROUND ALL THESE STEELERS FANS AROUND (NO I DO NOT KNOW WHY THERE ARE SO MANY AROUND HERE.)  LIVING IN ORANGE COUNTY.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

CAPS

you’ll probably get a little flack for Caps. Jake signing with Cleveland makes me happy. Pittsburg is a example of a successful franchise, hence alot of fans. Yeah try not to SHOUT. :)

Hopefully they start Jake. That’ll be good for the rest of the league :-P

Quinn's Pricetag Just Dropped!

I say the Bills trade either Marshawn Lynch or Donte Whitner in a deal for Brady Quinn. Let Quinn and Edwards fight it out for the starting QB gig here in Buffalo.

I HATE THE IDEA OF

LOSING MARSHAWN LYNCH. TRADE WHITNER. YES I AM YELLING AT MY COMPUTER BECAUSE TRADING LYNCH WOULD BE A HORRIBLE IDEA. IF FREDDY GOES DOWN OR IS OUT FOR A COUPLE GAMES BECAUSE OF SOMETHING STUPID LIKE TURF TOE OR WHATEVER T.O. HAD I WOULD BE SOOO PISSED.

by SOCALBILLSFAN99 on Mar 13, 2010 7:02 PM EST up reply actions

Agreed, but...

How will you feel if Marshawn does something stupid again and he’s on a year’s suspension when Fred Jackson goes down with a minor injury and we didn’t draft a legitimate replacement because we had Marshawn in reserve going into the draft??? I’m totally cool with dealing Whitner to the Browns for Quinn. I don’t overvalue him, I simply appreciate the competition he will bring to the position for Edwards. Personally, the way it’s looking I believe they plan to go into the season with Trent at the helm again (for better or worse). Competition is never a bad thing, Quinn may not be the next Brees or whomever… but he’s not any worse than Trent Edwards and probably still has more confidence.

agreed Socalbillsfan 100%. Lynch is only 23 and has a bright future if he can stay out of trouble. He is worth keeping around. Next year Jackson will be considered one of these older backs that can’t do it anymore like the 10 guys in free agency now that no one wants.

some of you waaaayyyy over-value quinn…..

Agreed...

he’ll probably be cut if they can’t trade him, but not till after the draft unfortunately…

by Cinga on Mar 13, 2010 10:16 PM EST up reply actions

maybe, but he is a lot better than any of our QB and actually may have a future if put on the right team, which probably isn’t buffalo

Really? Based on what, exactly? I will say Quinn is better than Delhomme, but that’s Cleveland’s problem now.

Frankly, I’ll take my chance with Edwards this year rather than give up anything for Quinn.

Edwards?

Really? I think he’s absolutely talentless. I’m hoping he’s out of the league by September.

Just say no...to Trent Edwards at QB.

I’m just annoyed that Hill, Quinn, and Delhomme all moved around the league without even a sniff from Buffalo. I’m not panicking, but considering Buffalo’s depth chart at the position, they should be investigating all avenues at QB. 5 and 14 are not even close to good enough and I’m worried OBD is going to cheap out on fixing the problem with some sort of misguided prayer that Gailey will be able to make a bad QB salvageable…it would be a very a Wilson-friendly game plan and would be a really sad way to start a new beginning for this team.

Just say no...to Trent Edwards at QB.

by Port Royal on Mar 15, 2010 10:15 AM EDT up reply actions

Hill, Quinn, and Delhomme are/were all available because they’re subpar; just like our current stable. What’s the difference?

With the contracts Edwards, Brohm, and Fitzy have – at least we’re paying little for our crappy QB play.

This I agree with.

Hill and Delhomme are subpar, too. If you’re pining for them we’re in trouble anyways. I’ll hold off saying the same about Quinn since he’s started, what, 16 games?

Bullet Dodged

I would have been really, really worried about CHIX if the Bills had even brought in Delhomme for a look-see. The guy single handedly gave Buffalo that Carolina game.

It can always get worse. Let me tell you how.

Agree 1000%

Just as worried as Cleveland fans should be about Holmgren running the show, he was’nt exactly that great in a GM role the first go round at Seattle.

There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.

Now is the time to get Quinn, and it will be easy and a cheap price

I would get it done, it can’t get worse than our QB situation

and Quinn would be the one to make it worse!

Plus the thing about Delhomme coming here (which I know he won’t now) or going to CLE is that neither roster has a Steve Smith type WR to bail him out.

i firmly feel quinn is overrated. trading the beast for him? whaaaaat.

quinn is notre dame hype, but he hasnt been hit in the noggin as many times as trent so him and trent you could say are equals but when the noggin is brought up you must feel quinn is the man. lets trade trent and kelsay for quinn. deal.

lynch? just like someone else said. hi he is 23. future running back forever here if he stays clean. he needs proper coaching. hit the hole like you used to and hard, you are not barry sanders.

whitner i like the idea of an even trade for quinn as well.

but again quinn is overrated. he has some good technique and power but idk. he shouldnt even be brought up into conversation.

and of course im saying this all when i feel we should of tried to draft him a few years ago so who am i to talk. i bought into the hype.

by sketchydave on Mar 14, 2010 12:45 AM EST reply actions

hit the hole like you used to and hard,

Last season there weren’t many holes to hit hard, just a mass of bodies to sledgehammer forward from behind.
