Changing My Draft Views
Ok so I have always been a firm believer in build the O and D lines and you don't need to have a great QB or RB. I was on board the entire off season so far with getting an offensive tackle for our first pick. But lately I have been thinking that if we have the opportunity to get C.J. Spiller we take it if he is there at 9. Every day I have been thinking about this more. He is such a playmaker and big play threat, we haven't had anyone like that in the backfield in a very long time (O.J. Simpson). If we can get a Chris Johnson type player for our offense, then I think it would be stupid not to take him. Also I say if Spiller is gone then I we should trade down and get some more picks. If we trade down I say we should really try to make a run at Terrence Cody. A lot of people are saying Dan Williams at 9. But look at Cody, he has been losing weight, proving to me that he getting very serious about his career in the NFL. If we trade down in the first round we can take him then, because I think his stock is seriously rising and he is the PERFECT nose tackle for a 3-4. I watched him play at Alabama a lot last year. He is a beast and just plugs up holes, exactly what we need in a nose tackle. With all of the depth this year on the O line and linebackers we can grab some of them later on, especially with potentially more draft picks. What does everyone think of these ideas?

Although Spiller would be good M. Lynch proves what can happen with any running back .
Cody would be great ! I doubt anyones gonna be knocking us out with trade ups in this deep draft , if Chix wants him take him at 9
C.J. Spiller is a lot different than Marshawn Lynch. Spiller has never been in trouble and has had a good GPA at Clemson. Cliff is the man but I really just don’t see us drafting him because there are so many other positions we need. Unless we expect him to run behind Levitre all year (unless Wood is back). I really think we need to install an offensive line before we draft guys we don’t need as much.
First off....
I’m not as high on Williams as most, posting ad nauseum that I’m BPA at least first 2 rds…. As for Spiller, it’s called the “Johnson addiction”, you’ll get over it once you realize, he is no Johnson… If you tickle him, he falls to the ground.. He will be a pretty good third down option for someone, but hopefully, not us.. We currently have 2 quality starters at tailback so we hardly need another as bad as we do other positions. Others have posted on here that RBs are literally a dime a dozen anymore, and while I don’t necessarily agree with that premise, a good speed back with decent hands can be found later in the draft…
Mt Cody… Yeah, it “looks” like he’s finally serious about his weight issues, but for how long? Till that first contract is signed? Or till the end of his career??? I would not be adverse to his selection, to team in a rotation with Kyle, but to think he’s the “perfect” NT is a major stretch of the imagination, considering he’s not even an every down NT…
I agree
Everyone thinks CJ Spiller is the next Chris Johnson, he might be but IMO the Bills need to draft another player. I would rather take Joe Mcknight in a later round for good value, maybe not as fast but still versatile.

But Mike Williams didn’t have the work ethic, drive, or overall talent to be good in the NFL at all so him being overweight actually mattered a lot
Your getting off onto a different subject here.....
work ethic, drive, or overall talent
we were discussing Mt Cody after all… Yes, talent, but work ethic, and drive don’t belong in his description…. yet….
We have many more needs than Spiller

so no need to draft a rb
when the bills have two more than capable backs on the team? i dont think spiller would be a good pick at 9. someone like dexter mcluster would be better, and he ranks out at like round 3 or 4.

HOLY CRAP!!!! The Niners gave QB Hill away to Detroit for a 7th Rounder!!!!!!
Where were we on this deal? A 7th rounder? Hill is better than all of our QBs.
Gotta run to the bathroom and puke.
Unbelievable.
