Foote signs with Steelers

According to NFL.com writer Jason La Canfora, free agent LB Larry Foote has signed / resigned with his original club the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Foote signed a 3yr deal worth $9.3mil and a $1.8mil signing bonus.  According to La Canfora, Foote was receiving interest from the Redskins and Cardinals.

With Foote off of the market, hopefully the Bills can make some type of move to add a veteran LB.  With FA LB Andra Davis visiting today and tomorrow maybe he is a serious option for depth and experience.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Foote

Is useful as a benchmark as to what type of contracts ILB’s can expect to receive in this type of FA market.

It is a good benchmark. We can now expect for Davis`s asking price to be about the same.

The more I see, the less I know.

Id be fine with a the same deal for Davis… maybe a little less, but probably about the same… IF we sign him

It is Brohm’s Bills jersey that is the least stained with doo-doo... GO BILLS

Well in Davis's case

I think I’d be more comfortable with a 3 year deal, that had very little guaranteed money in year 3. AKA front load the crap out of the contract.

really?

cuz i think foote would ask for more being a starter quality ILB. davis seems strictly backup so i would think he would be considering less money.

I don’t know if Foote is a starter with the Steelers though. The guy they had replacing him last year did very well. I honestly think that they’ll have a rotation at ILB with Foote now.

oh yea i agree

but foote could be a starter on many teams….which would make me think his price-tag would go up because of that. davis will be back-rotational wherever he goes, i.e. he should be cheaper i think.
