?s for former NFL Scout Russ Lande
It has been a very busy few weeks for myself since Russ returned to hosting his Wednesday Night chats after the Senior Bowl ended, but I am going to try to sit in on this week's discussion which takes place Wednesday Night at 9pm EST.
What Draft Prospects and/or current NFL Players do you want me to ask about?
*Russ Lande is currently a Sporting News.com NFL Draft Expert and President and Founder of GMJR.com. For the Sporting News, Lande is responsible for writing NFL insider content, providing detailed scouting reports on college players and posting an ongoing mock draft in the “War Room” leading up to the NFL Draft. Before working for Sporting News, Lande served as a college scout for the Cleveland Browns for three years covering the mid-west region while evaluating all eligible prospects for the NFL Draft. He covers all-star games, the NFL Combine and pro days. Lande continues to appear on radio stations across the country.
Lande is also the author of the annual "GM Jr Draft Guide" which has been called the most comprehensive, unique and thorough NFL Draft Guide ever written and made available to the fans and scouts of the NFL.
**Currently the War Room has Buffalo taking:
| 9 (9) | Bills | Sergio Kindle | OLB | Texas | |||||||||||||||
|
Switching to a 3-4 scheme means the Bills must find edge pass rushers, and Kindle would be a perfect fit. After his strong Combine workout, nobody doubts his ability to be productive as a rush linebacker in a 3-4.

If you could
ask him what type of pro he thinks Lafevour will be?
If you could also ask him if Saffold can be a starting LT in the NFL?
I second the Saffold question. If you could also ask him if Bulaga translates better as a RT instead of a LT.
If you could, see what he think of Mt. Cody too. Thanks :)
Scouting Reports I would Like his opinion on.
Bryan Bulaga
Dan Williams
Trent Williams
Terrence Cody
Roger Saffold
Cam Thomas
Dan LeFevour
John Skelton
Brandon Carter
Eric Cooke
There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.

Honestly?
Nothing personal, but with all due respect, the picks listed here are why I have never really paid any attention to what Russ Lande thinks. He is normally so far off base its rather funny. I mean, Sergio Kindle at 9? Really? At best Kindle is an early 2nd round talent.

In his defense, I don’t think he is the only one that contributes to the War Room Mock Draft, but I could be wrong….I see Kindle in the 1st rd, just not that early.

I hate the War Room Mock Draft
It’s a joke every year.
At one point last offseason they had Nate Davis going in the first round…

You keep a guy like Modrak around to scount when he hasn’t been proven to be worth a damn for the past years of employment!
I got nothing.

I have an inside source that tells me that Modrak has opposed every pick that has been a bust and been for every pick that worked out.
Not really, but someone might…

Other than his years of employment in Pittsburgh and Philly. Modrak spent 20 years climbing the ladder in Pittsburgh. And he was the GM that, along with Andy Reid, completely turned things around overnight in Philly.
I’ve got this crazy theory that a talent evaluater like Modrak, who was a part of some great FOs in Pittsburgh and then had the final say in Philly and did a great job for a few years, wasn’t the problem in Buffalo when Tom Donahoe had all the power or when Dick Jauron somehow had final say over decisions. Isn’t it possible that somebody who has as good of a pre-Buffalo track record as Modrak does and considering that Buffalo has done a solid job in the later rounds of the draft with Modrak around, isn’t part of the problem?
You’re assumption that everybody with any amount of power in the bad situation that is the Buffalo Bills has to be part of the problem is ridiculous. Is every person on the board of directors for a fortune 500 company that happens to be losing money doing a bad job? Is every player on a bad offense or defense part of the problem? If we took your FO attitude and applied it to the terrible offense, then Lee Evans and all the other WRs/TEs/QBs and everybody involved in the passing game would be cut.
I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute

I think.
That’s a fair assessment.
