Logic would suggest the Bills have too many needs to draft a project, but they do need a quarterback and have been susceptible to falling for splashy names that might sell tickets.

He may be making that statement based on the T.O. signing last year.

the bills needed another WR though
and with coles going to cincy, TO was a perfect compliment.

Drew Bledsoe
is one, Doug Flutie is another, Rob Johnson was a Kevin Kolb etc……. or were you looking for the number of letters in the name. London Fletcher, Larry Tripplet, Takeo Spikes, Terrell Owens etc….. Tim is justified unless your definition is something other than his.
This is like dumping a new puzzle from it's box. Now let's start putting the peices together. I guess this is what we all asked for.
Rob Johnson was a legitimate QB prospect
Drew Bledsoe was at the time one of the most prolific QB’s in the league, he was just coming off an injury. I mean Flutie may have been a ticket sale thing , but he was the only one off that list. This is just more hot crap from Tim Grahahm.
Flutie was the only one who truly panned out. Bledsoe lasted 8 games, then the rest of the league caught up to his shennanigans. Rob Johnson proved that talent couldn’t trump the lack of heart for the game.

Flutie? He was not a ticket grab guy. He was signed to be a backup.

Actually, if you ask Flutie he signed to be a starter. Then the Bills traded for Johnson and reduced him to a back-up and that is what started his incessant whining that divided the locker-room.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
Fair enough.

The Flutie signing didn't get that much coverage
Flutie was never really brought in to be competing for the starting job, but earned it when the opportunity presented itself. Did he impact tickets sales? Yes, but those sales were likely based on the fact that he won games, got them to the playoffs, and the fans liked him.
your saying
that they brought in rob freaking johnson to sell tickets? or that they brought in a back-up in flutie to sell tickets?
fletcher was an impact player from day one, how is that a signing just to sell tickets? that was a signing to help bolster the team…same with spikes.
kevin kolb? how is he even relevant to the buffalo bills?
no hes not justified, especially by the examples you just gave….

I may have misunderstood your post.
Then I noticed a link to something about T. Tebow. If your insinuating the Bills bring in Named players just to sell tickets then I believe we are wasting each others time. My apologies.

If Nix and Gailey are making the calls now, how is anything the Bills might have been susceptible to in the past relevant?
most of my posts get deleted :(
It’s not. It’s just much easier to make broad stroke comments without doing any real work, especially when no one outside of Buffalo will question it.
Bill Polian and AJ Smith are gone, so there's not the usual balance between "sane" and "others." Ralph has mentally checked out since 1994. It's a very dangerous time. The coalition for reason is extremely weak.

Aaron Maybin was a splashy name? Did he have some sort of cult following in college I wasn’t aware of?

yea
i dont get it. people just cant throw names out there and say hes justified….who the hell cared about aaron maybin before the bills drafted him?
drew bledsoe would be the ONLY player i could see this logic on. but again he was a pro bowl qb at the time and used to help this team out.

How will drafting Tebow sell more tickets????
I don’t see how that’s relevant. Nobody in Buffalo cares what Tebow did in college, or gives two craps about him other than what he can do to turn this franchise around. The only way more tickets will be sold is if the Bills start winning. Bringing in a big named college player doesn’t do that until the wins start coming too…..
