The Trent Williams Hypothesis

Happy St. Patrick's Day fellow Rumblers!

This is my first ever post, but I have been a reader of this site for well over a year.  Keep up the great work work everybody.  Any who, here it goes...

We are all well aware of our beloved Bill's deficiencies and the many avenues that could be explored with our day 1 and day 2 picks.   With a thought on the offensive line, below is what I have creatively dubbed The Trent Williams Hypothesis.

If the Bills draft Trent Williams with our #9 pick, I believe there is a huge chance the Bills will trade up or draft Tebow in the second round.  I'm not stating I would love or hate the idea, just stating that if Trent Williams is the #9 pick, then I believe there is a huge chance Tebow will be our next pick.  Prior to the 2009 college football season, we were all well aware Trent Williams was an excellent right tackle.  Although he struggled a bit at left tackle this past season, he still had a very good season and is regarded as a top left tackle in this years draft.   The idea of drafting Trent Williams and Tebow,  would be to move (or eventually move) Williams back to his more natural or more familiar right tackle position to protect Tebow's blindside.

That's it... my thoughts.   I'm not trying to ignite another ridiculous Tebow debate, just wanted to write down a realistic thought of how the draft could turnout.

Any thoughts, ideas or criticism is cool by me.

Thanks again for reading,

Erin Go Bragh!

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I.. shouldnt.... but....

ahhh. ok Tebow…

I dont see CHIX going with a quarterback unless somehow Bradford or Clausen fall to us. We dont need another project QB on this roster. We have Trent Edwards, who is still a work in progress… and we have Brohm, who is very much unproven and could/should/will compete with Edwards.

Its not a bad idea in theory… draft an RT for a lefty QB… but I just dont see it happening… but hey, ya never know… Crazier things sure have happened.

Williams

Not worth the #9 pick. Projected as RT due to his short arms and lack of strength to handle the bull rush.

Dude

Williams arms were an inch longer than Balugas. They measured 34 and 1/4 inches. that’s plenty of arm length to play the left side. As a rule of thumb 33 inches is the minimum arm length most team’s look for in there LT.

I’m tired of hearing about Tebow and I stand pretty neutral about him as a pro, but this idea’s been swimming around my head for a while now. Whatever the FO decides to do, I think I’ll be okay with.

1. I don’t think Trent Williams is all that special, if Bulaga is gone @ #9 then we trade down and get Dan Williams or Anthony Davis( wjo i’d much rather have than williams)if we can trade down, if we can’t trade down then take the best player avaiable which could be Dan Williams anyways, or maybe one of the QB’s
2. A 2nd round pick on Tebow is so wasteful, depending on who we pick in the 1st round(DL,OL,OLB, QB) we could fill one of those positions in the seconds round maybe Sergio Kindle, Cam Thomas(uhh), Rodger staffold

Not at #9

But i would love to see the Bills draft Cody. Watching everyone run all over us last year was pretty depressing. I think he would be the best solution against the run.

lol

Davis is the next mike willams didnt even show up for his pro DAY LOL. cody isnt worth a first pick willams was considered the best tackle coming out of collage. willams also had one of the best work outs at the combine incuding the bench. but hw is weak a cording to bob. One other thing he has is that he is a hard ass worker not a work out worrior like davis.

confusing me. who’s the hard ass worker? Davis is anything but a workout warrior, dude only put up 21 reps in the combine and struggles to keep his weight down.
