OL Andrews Released by Eagles
The Eagles announced today that they have released Shawn Andrews. He made the Pro Bowl as a RG in '06 and '07, but he has not played very much over the past two years. He was supposed to start this past season at RT, but apparently he has struggled with back injuries and depression. With the Bills depth issues along the line and the possibility that Wood could miss significant time this upcoming season, Andrews could present the Bills with a legitimate starter along the OL. I am of the opinion that the Bills will not sign a player with baggage like Andrews, and I am not even sure if he could pass a physical; however, when a young offensive lineman who has proven himself in the NFL is released it is always worth considering. What does BR think of Shawn Andrews and do you think that Nix will consider giving a player with his recent past a low-risk contract?
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I think the Bills would have considered Andrews if they hadn’t signed Cornell Green. Now he’s not a prohibitive player I just don’t think the Bills need to throw another signing bonus out there for another RT. If Wood is going to come back healthy I don’t think Andrews has a spot on the team.
You can't have CHANGE without CHAN.

Do you think Andrews could be brought in as a depth option or as a player that will compete for a starting spot in camp considering he has only played two games over the past two seasons? I know it was only a few seasons ago that he was better than any OL currently on the Bill’s roster, but when he doesn’t play for two seasons because of injury (or any other reason) I thought he would come with a relatively low price tag.
"I'm going to talk to Mike and see what he has to say and see what he thinks he needs. But there are going to be some changes. What's that old song? 'There are going to be some changes made'? Frankly I forget the words beyond 'there are going to be some changes made.'" -Ralph Wilson, Jr.

per reports last year
has some Mike Williams, doesn’t want to play anymore in him.
Stacey – his brother – was the guy to go after last year
Shawn Andrews is a major headcase
I know I’m being insensitive, but his mental depression issues is why he hasn’t played or even practiced. I don’t expect any team to take a chance on him. Shame, really.
