Chad Henne says Tebow "isn't an NFL quarterback" | ProFootballTalk.com
I'm OK with a dude having an opinion, but maybe Chad Henne should stuff his opinions into a dark corner of his mind until he, you know, throws more touchdowns than interceptions in an NFL season. Or something.
Peyton Manning calls rookie quarterbacks and welcomes them to the NFL QB fraternity. Chad Henne's approach is... slightly different.

He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named? I wouldn’t do that, Chad.
Bill Polian and AJ Smith are gone, so there's not the usual balance between "sane" and "others." Ralph has mentally checked out since 1994. It's a very dangerous time. The coalition for reason is extremely weak.
But T-Bough didn't even go to The Ohio State Univ.!!!!!

Upon further review...
Henne’s position coach with the Dolphins is one of the people helping Tebow with his new and improved mechanics. Anyone think Henne has inside information?

Not Nice
But there’s so many ??? about Tebow that i’d hope we don’t become the team that takes the chance on him..
well then it must be true.....
because we all know that Henne is the second coming of Joe Montana. What a schnook…. and I don’t even like Tebow
"The ball is like a cold to Clifford Franklin..... Clifford Franklin the only one catchin' it....Clifford Franklin the only one comin' down wit it!"....... Clifford Franklin
Well...
I guess if Teabow gets drafted by the Bills, at the very least we’d have a bitte rivalry on our hands between the two QBs (Maybe the next Kelly/Marino… HA! right…)
John I.
Alright... That does it!!!
I’m officially on the draft Tebow bandwagon… My extreme dislike of the Gators, is totally outweighed by my hatred (too strong a word??) of the phish…
Agreed.....Tebow in the 2nd

Hey Joe...
as for your sig… How do you stop her from reminding you daily of your mistake??? My ex and I are back together…. Sorta… And darn if she ain’t still got that knack of ruining my morning!!!
Good luck my friend :-)
How do you stop her from reminding you daily of your mistake???
You don’t. You have to pick your battles…..and most of them are not worth fighting. Just make sure you win the important ones, like “No we are not going out tonight, I am watching the draft” :-)

Just remember, you agreed to go back in.

Good luck with that buddy. When my first wife left, I shut that door & never looked back.
Drafting Tebow
…would certainly keep the feisty posts going around here a little longer…

Wow I really wasn't much of a Tebow fan in the beginning...
but this makes me root for him even more.
one of those
“consider the source” items. What has Henne done that qualifies him as an expert? He’s a QB for a fad offense. His stats are mediocre and, how’d he do in the playoffs? Ooops.
As a Fins hater, I hope it comes back to bite him in the a$$.
"huge, big, fast, nasty...all those terms"
WOW
what Brian said.
Also, this guy is suppose to be a leader – he got baited and took the bait. These guys are suppose to handle the media business wise.
Imagine if they drafted Tebow – not only that – isn’t Pat White basically a Tebow clone? What does White think of the comment.
Maybe Henne should stick to the film room – the jury is very much out on whether he’s going to be an effective NFL QB.
We got the tools, We got the talent
One thing's for certain
Tim Tebow isn’t Chad Henne, and that’s a damned good thing. I will laugh when the Dolphins are looking for a new signal caller in a year or two.

So you can only have an opinion if you’re a top player?
It’s the type of thinking that put Emmitt Smith at ESPN.
Like I said – a guy can have an opinion. It’d probably have been in his best interest to keep it to himself until he could make the opposite claim about himself.

Best part of all that commentary
(and, admittedly, I didn’t read much of it) was one guy’s nickname of Ben Roethlisberger. I’ll allow you to find it for yourself.

Hey kettle, the pot is calling
2 reasons to hate Henne -
1) Meatchicken Weasel
2) Miami Phish
I agree with most others. I’m beginning to root for that guy that will not be named.
That's it
We are moving to the 3-4……
Now lets restructure the Offense for a Lefty. Go get a good RT and we are in business…..
JK but could it happen???
but tebow is just now learning how to throw. I say that as a non-NFL QB. Does it matter who says it if it is true?
This post doesn’t have anything to do with Tebow, though. It’s about Chad Henne.

Tebow Haters
It amuses me how much people hate on Tim Tebow. He seems like a very good kid to me. Is he going to be a great QB? Who knows. Time will tell.
People hate on him in a Favre’esque kinda way because of the media attention he gets, but unlike Favre I don’t see him as a media whore. Instead I see a kid trying to do good for himself and his family. What’s to hate about that?
If you dislike him because of his beliefs… hey, I don’t agree with his position on anything either, but that’s frankly none of my concern and definitely seems like a strange basis to hate on an athlete.
What gets me most irritated is that EVERYONE seems to have an expert opinion on this kid and 90% of those people are FOS. They don’t know anything about proper mechanics or the number of successful QBs in the league that never possesed it.
My view, he was good enough to WIN, so he kept doing what it is he does. That does NOT mean he isn’t capable of doing other things to win. If you look at his accomplishments, all he’s done is win…. win and win some more. And because he doesn’t fit some stereotype every Joe Plumber thinks they know more about his chances than pro scouts do? Rediculous.

You’ll either get used to it, or sick of it. You forgot the “I told you so people” Either way, I wish Tim Teebow the best where ever he ends up. I know if he ends up here in Buffalo, I will have to listen to everyone say, put him in, let the young guy play and the jokes would not be worth it.
This is like dumping a new puzzle from it's box. Now let's start putting the peices together. I guess this is what we all asked for.
The Reason I Don't Like Tebow.
I can honestly say it’s not his fault, but it is definitely the college TV media hype, I was ok with it right up until…..
“If you spend 5 minutes with Tim Tebow you are a better person for it”
That was just so over the top. I couldn’t stand it anymore and just didn’t want to hear anymore Tebow hype, that was just too much.
There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.

Tebow's fault?
you realize that Tebow didn’t write or direct that piece.
listen, i’m sure he’s not perfect. he seems like he was brought up with certain values thay probably most of us weren’t – i know i wasn’t. and sometimes people who have different values than you can come off preachy. maybe he will and maybe you won’t like that.
but if he’s winning games and moving the offense, you’re probably not going to care – i know i won’t.
Thou shall not drinketh thy KoolAid...
So you don’t like Tebow’s hype, not Tebow himself.

Heaven forbid someone actually has some morals
Just proof of how screwed up & backwards this world has become.
Having morals is one thing, throwing them in everyone’s faces and being preachy is another. I understand that a lot of the throwing in peoples faces isn’t Tebow himself, but he is the focal point.
Believe whatever you want, I don’t care. Just don’t talk about it incessantly and prattle on and on about how great your way of thinking is. There is a big difference.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
I’ve only heard the guy talk a few times in interviews and I didn’t see that at all. But like I said, it was only a few times so maybe I didn’t see the right interviews. I just think it’s crazy how people are all of a sudden “offended” by someone that speaks about their beliefs or faith in God, but yet it’s OK to be bombarded on every side & virtually every facet of the media with immoral behavior. It’s even more crazy & more than a bit ignorant to judge someone’s football skills on their faith.
I’m on the fence with Tebow right now, neither for him or against him becoming a Bill. But when I decide, I’d rather make that decision on what he can do for the team. And if I was going to bring personal traits into the equation, I’d much more be concerned with the wife beaters, drug abusers, & dog killers out there than someone that feels strongly about their faith. Wouldn’t you?
Agree 100%

To be honest I have seen maybe two Tebow interviews and he hasn’t struck me as being over the top preachy, I was simply speaking in general terms in my comment above. I will also add the as anti-religion as I am, I couldn’t care less about Tebow’s beliefs. If he can win ….he’s okay with me.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
Tebow Lovers
I as well could care less about Tebow’s personal beliefs. I’ve read expert opinions and none of them say Tebow’s mechanics are good. Does that mean he won’t be a good NFL QB? I don’t know, but it is what it is and it’s a weakness, like it or not. I find it very hard to believe his throwing motion is no big deal. If that was the case why is he working on changing it? Where are these pro scouts that say Tebow can succeed with his defeciencies? And again why is Tebow working on fixing his throwing motion if it’s not a problem? I’d be happy if we drafted him in later rds. But to think he’s anything but a project QB is wishful thinking. And if Tebow is using the media as a way to express his personel beliefs I hope he stops.
by buffalobacker on Mar 19, 2010 10:59 AM EDT up reply actions
I think, that like most everything else, his throwing motion is overrated. Phillip Rivers, Kerry Collins, and Bernie Kosar, all have or had funky motions when throwing. Who cares? The more important thing is his ability to read a defense and make the right decision with the football. if he can do that how he gets it there is irrelevant.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.

My problem with this is
If Tebow had played at Anonymous College X, would anyone even be talking about him as a draft prospect. IMO we wouldn’t, he’d be considered nothing more than an UDFA.
Agreed, But
If his mechanics are passable why is he supposedly making changes to it? I quess it’s a case of over analyzing the kid. I’m just worried we reach to get this kid. I hope they do their homework on Tebow.
Henne isn't helping his cause with comments like that
And for him to call out his WRs by saying they are still learning ( even though he is still learning too ) and that Miami should bring in T.O is ridiculous.
