DT poll
The Mocking the Draft thing has actually begun prematurely, so I'm up to the plate 2 days before the actual draft for Rd 3 and 4 starts! I'm no doubt picking a Nose Tackle in this round, but since I don't have my posse with me to argue about who I should take like I did when I was getting an Offensive Tackle, I'm leaving the 4 cantidates that are still on the board that I've heard the most about (that aren't round 6 potential) here to let you guys decide.
And yes, these are the best guys on the board. Cam Thomas and Torrell Troup (The two I was thinking of before the round began early) are already off.
I'll email the guy with my selection based on the votes in a few hours. And feel free to join me for round 4 on Saturday!
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I voted Boo Williams because that’s an awesome name

Are you sure you have to go NT? I don't like any of those guys this early
Seems like a good time to look at the BPA especially at LB, TE, or G.

I'm going NT, no question.
Cam and Torrell already went a round too early, there will be literally NOTHING left by the time I get to round 4.

I agree with Joe P.
You cant fill every need that we have in one year, dont reach for a NT just because of need, this is the biggest mistake teams make. Do you have a list of the top 10 players still availabe, that might be a better poll.
If we’re not going with an NT, I already know who I’m picking. This poll was only for the purpose of picking which NT I choose, this round or otherwise.

Who
would be the choice? How about McCluster
Also with Joe P.
I understand there are a couple of teams who might still be in the market for an NT (San Diego, Pittsburgh possibly), but those guys are not fourth rounders in my opinion. If you gamble on one, then gamble on Joseph, at least he’s got some nice upside.
Better yet, Arthur Jones is still on the board.

He's not really an NT prospect though.
I’ve decided to forego the NT in round 3 and go for round 4. (I’ve actually seen Joseph as high as round 2 in mock drafts!)
If not, I have my pick all set. :)

He's not a true NT
But he did play there for the Orange in ‘09, and has the strength to do it. I was thinking of him more as a rotational player on the nose for a year and then take over for Stroud year two. That’s just me, I happen to be a fan.
Really? Joseph in round two? I mean, he’s got talent, but that is high.
Also- Excellent job so far. You have a plan and are sticking to it. It certainly doesn’t hurt that you picked up Bradford- wouldn’t mind that pick at all :).

I personally would never take Joesph in round 2, but I have seen him creeping up draft boards for some reason as of late. I’d much rather see a guy that’s ready to play NT right away like Boo or Joesph than Arthur, who is probably more suited to be a DE in the 3-4.

I think we're agreeing to disagree on the last point
Agreed that Jones is a better DE in the 3-4, but disagree that Boo or Joseph is more ready to play NT. Jones has done it, and moreover did an effective job on a bad team after tearing a pec during summer workouts. Still had 7.5 TFL and 1.5 sacks in 8 games. Have I mentioned I like Jones? :)

Hey hey, I like him as well! I just think that it’d be more likely for me to pick up a straight DT like Owens rather than a fringe DE/DT combo like Jones.

Fair enough

Jeff Owens, without a doubt. But all these guys will be there in round 4. Linval Joseph would be my second choice, but 6’5 kills his leverage against O.T.‘s, and Owens is stronger. I’m gonna so hate on you if you don’t take Koa Misi or Jason Worilds in round three.
Actually, funny story.
I just sent in my pick, it was indeed Koa. :)

I’d argue that there’s already literally nothing left.
If Al Woods is still available, take him instead.

All right, my pick has been sent in.
My third rounder is officially Koa Misi, OLB/DE, Utah. Fourth round, you will see a DT of some manner.

good job, buddy.
sporting news/Russ Lande has Jeff Owens going in round one!!! http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/article/2010-03-14/prospect-profile-jeff-owens-georgia-dt
That's why I don't take Lande or the Sporting News seriously
They have picks like this every year.

There you go.....nicely done :-)

Why would you take one of these guys just to take a NT?
None are good fits at NT anyhow.
Joseph looks more like a potential DE. Robinson is 295 lbs and has a good shot at going undrafted. Owens is a 4-3 DT, IMO. Not big enough or stout enough to anchor. Baston is similar to Robinson, as he’s barely 300 lbs and isn’t likely to be drafted.
Al Woods would be a better option, even though he might be a NT/DE tweener. He’s got the height and frame to eventually anchor inside.
If I were you, I’d be taking BPA and worry about grabbing an upside NT late in the draft. Travis Ivey, Martin Tevaseu, or Ekom Udofia would be much better 7th round picks than any of your guys would be 4th round picks….

If I don’t take an NT, I’m probably gonna get lambasted, and I’m already set for plenty of lambasting because I had the gall to take a QB that wasn’t Tim Tebow.
It’s really going to depend who’s there in the 4th.

Lambasted by who?
Who cares?!?!
Pick the best player available instead of reaching for some guy who might not even get drafted just so you don’t get ridiculed for not picking a player at a certain position? I would think they would lambaste you for reaching 3 rounds for some guys?!?!

"As the governor of Louisiana once said, the only way Chris Kelsay can lose his job is if he got caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy."
Ha
Definitely. I’d take Tevaseu and Udofia with our two 7th rounders instead of one of the guys listed in the poll in the 4th any day.

BTW
I would much rather do that if we’re trying to find a NT. I wouldn’t mind Joseph in round 4 as a DE prospect. I just don’t think he’s NT material.

Koa Misi
Haven’t heard much about him. Can someone give a brief synopsis of his skill set or post a link to an eval?

Show off :-)

Good athlete with a good motor. Wasn’t much of a sack guy, but he was playing out of position with a hand on the ground. Should be a solid pass rusher who can go sideline to sideline in the run game. Not as good of a bull rusher or power player as his size suggests (he’s in the 260-265 range). Misi was one of the standout players at the Senior Bowl where he showed that he could be a better pro playing in a 3-4 than he was a college player in a 4-3.
I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute
Well what can I say
Jeff Owens is my crack(And I mean that as non creepily, as someone can mean that)
I had a family emergency of such earlier today, as such they had to use my BPA list and we wound up with Boo Robinson. Not a horrible pick, but he wouldn’t have been my first choice had I actually been there.
Whoop.

why man, why?
what happened to Owens? Boo Robinson is no more a run-stuffer than K Williams. I’m so disappointed. Hurry, someone get to mob16151’s house, quick. I worry what he might do.
Yeah, I was pulled away from the computer before the draft began and I hadn’t actually updated my BPA list since I threw it together a week ago, my mistake thinking I would actually be there.

In the 4th
Owens in round 4
If Skelton is available, pull the trigger. I think he is the kind of QB Chan could work with an make into a starter a few years down the road.
There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.
