2010 NFL Draft
Browns might trade up for QB – Inside The Bills
"In a time where very few NFL teams have an interest in trading into the top 10 due to the enormous money handed out to NFL prospects taken that high, the Cleveland Browns, a team already in the top 10 at seventh overall, have not ruled out the possibility of trading up if it means landing Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford."
Monday Morning QB - Peter King - SI.com
I think Mike Holmgren looked and sounded like a man with a sense of urgency to pick a quarterback, put him under center, and let him play 16 games -- without the pressure of looking over his shoulder at the backup. "A quarterback needs two full seasons before you can judge him. What's Brady Quinn started? Twelve games? How can we know if he's the guy?'' Just from listening to him, it sounds like the Browns will give the job to Quinn, draft a passer sometime after the first round, and groom him in case Quinn's not The Man.
NFL Combine gives prospects like Everson Griffen a shot to shine - NFL - SI.com
"On Monday, it was the defensive linemen and linebackers' turn to take the field at the NFL Scouting Combine. The performances on the field ranged from outstanding to awful."
John Clayton Mailbag - ESPN
"You're right about the offensive line problems being a factor, but why would the Bills have to start Clausen immediately? They could use Trent Edwards as a bridge to Clausen. I don't think you have to worry about it, because I don't think Clausen will drop that far. If that's the case, the Bills need to draft an offensive tackle."

Nix and Gailey continue to reshape Bills | Olean Times Herald
"Say what you want about the hiring of 70-year-old general manager Buddy Nix and the less-than-popular choice of Chan Gailey as coach, the Buffalo Bills haven’t stood pat this off-season. "
With Bulger, the Rams have options | National Football Post
Why not play around with Bulger first, see if there is some interest? NFL clubs are watching tape on all veteran players—those who will be free agents and those who may be cut. There may be a team out there, such as the Bills, who could be interested in Bulger.
ProFootballWeekly.com - AFC East team needs
Bills Summary: "Without a doubt, finding a QB who can play immediately is the Bills' most pressing need, but giving him some reliable targets and bolstering both lines are also integral steps if the team hopes to improve under new coach Chan Gailey."

Jeff Owens
The dude tore it up at the combine, yet continues to get no love. I could easily see him in a Bill’s uni next season.
He's not a fit in our defense
We already have a player of his stature in Kyle Williams, and it’s a major question as to what his role will be.

"As the governor of Louisiana once said, the only way Chris Kelsay can lose his job is if he got caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy."
Except he's stronger than William's
And IMO better suited as a rotational NT. Cuz he don’t have stubby lil arm’s. Like you know who. lol
Actually
Owens does have pretty short arms. They measured 32 3/4" this week. Only 6 of the 25 players listed as DT’s had shorter arms.
Just because he can put up a ridiculous number of reps on the bench doesn’t mean he can control the interior.
I can’t find Williams’ arm length, but I’m guessing they’re roughly 32-33 inches as well.

Whaley interview
I know this interview might fall into the territory of “heard it all before”, but the fact it is coming from someone like Whaley gets me fired up for the future!!
Love there being “only one voice” and there actually being “a plan”. Simple things I know….
Also, Pinzone is tearing it up! Pennington, Taylor/Sproles, Watson and Chambres?! That’s some splashes (for the Bills anyway…)
"Don't I know you?"
"Nah, that ain't me, man. I'm from Buffalo"
Yeah which is exactly why it won’t happen. They are going to build through the draft not FA. They might sign Pennington… that’s about the only guy off that list that will get signed.

I'll admit
I had no idea what Doug Whaley looked like….

When he was hired a looked for a pic and one pic came up. ONE! This guy played college football and worked for one of the best organizations in the NFL and there was this:

maybe he believes that if you take a picture of him, you steal his soul?????
A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing!
Why would the Bills trade for Bulger?
His salary is too high for any team at this point in his career. If he was cut they might be interested however.
Got a resposne from Bowen, the author of the article in question:
Can always restructure a contract, and Rams could wait until after draft to let him go.
http://twitter.com/MattBowen41/status/9903118406
That makes sense. The Bills give up a 2011 third or fourth rounder for Bulger and restructure his deal to be incenvitve laden or whatever… I don’t think anyone anticipates it happening before the draft but it could work if the Bills miss on their QB in the draft if that is indeed the plan.

Ok that makes more sense.
But Bulger would have to want to restructure his contract, when he could possibly still get his guaranteed money paid to him (I’m not sure what the numbers are) and have more options as a free agent, where teams might compete for his services.
Well if he’s a “free agent” he won’t have a contract, restructured or otherwise. I’m guessing Bulger and Campbell don’t get moved until the draft when teams know their direction at QB.
