With The 9th Pick in the 2010 Nfl Draft
The Buffalo Bills Trade Their Pick to the NY Giants, For Their First Round Pick (#15)Their 3rd Round Pick (#76) and a 2011 5th Round Pick.
The NY Giants absolutely need an inside linebacker in this years draft, and will be willing to trade up to get Rolando MCclain. He DEFINATELY won't get by Denver at #11 or Miami at #12 ...
By Trading down, there is No Doubt in my mind, that we will have a shot at One of the following : a) QB-Clausen (by the the Seahawks taking Whitehurst), b)OT's-Trent Williams or Anthony Davis, c) DT- Dan Williams, or d)OT's-Bruce Campbell or Charles Brown (which would be reaches) but with the added 3rd rounder, we could possibly move back up into the late 2nd with our (2) 3rd rounders.
If you read this Buddy Nix ..... Make it happen ... They want MCclain REAL Bad
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Good idea but
Trading up into the top 10 is hard work. We might demand a 2nd instead of a 3rd but im not sure. youll have to look at the quality points. But anyways, I would take Tebow at 15. Yes I am a fan and I don’t see him making it out of the first round. I want a leader on this team, not another bum who is going to hold out for a bigger contract and miss valuable training camp time cuz he is greedy. If we pick up an extra 2nd, we could address the LT and NT positions in the 2nd. And in the 3rd round you take Norwood from South Carolina (OLB) and you had yourself a hell of a draft. Norwood is a stud and will be a steal in the 3-4 round like he is projected to go.
I was replying to csc06258 in regarding to drafting Tebow at 15.
I’m all for trading down and picking up picks so I agree with you gred.

Yea
When I saw something about taking Tebow at 15 I just stopped reading so I knew exactly what you were talking about RIP. It’s not that I don’t like Tebow (oh wait….I don’t like Tebow) but I’m wondering how he went from a 1st round pick last year to a mid-round pick this year to a late round pick after the Senior Bowl to suddenly a late 1st, early 2nd pick just because he changed his throwing motion. I just know that if we draft Tebow that early I’m filing for fan free agency.
really?
Tebow at 15? I like the guy and would be fine with a 2nd round pick at most…but a first round pick? really?
by Mindbender14 on Mar 22, 2010 9:43 AM EDT up reply actions
he wont be there in the 2nd when we pick so if he turns into a future hall of famer people will be like damn, we should of took tebow at 9 or 15. I would like to preferable trade down into the mid-late 20’s and take him. Think about it people, if New England, and Belichek did a private workout dont you think that says something? Belichek knows his stuff and he obviously thought it was worth his while to interview him. They have 3, 3rd round picks and i think will find a way to take him and groom him. Then will have to see Tim Tebow beat the crap out of us for the next 10 years and will be even more depressed…thats if buffalo is still in buffalo
also, aaron maybin a first round pick? really? haha drafting Tebow would be a lot better than drafting someone like aaron maybin or mike williams or the other 10 guys we missed on the last decade. If you recall, our better players have been drafted in later rounds or picked up in FA. Drafting Tebow at 15 or 42 doesn’t really matter, cuz most likely the bills would pass on Okung if he fell to them and take anthony davis. thats basically the situation that happened last year with Maybin and Orakpo.
Necessary?

the suggestion at Tebow at 15?
Yes – if we want to blow another first round selection.
Only the Jags should take Tebow in Round 1 and this is due to economics not football.
What if OBD thinks Tebow is a future starting QB in the NFL?
And he ends up being one….would it be wasted then?

Value
… I guess it depends if we overpaid for him and missed the chance of drafting another player needed to take this team all the way.
Tebow may have wowed people with his Pro-Day but there are still big questions about him being able to read defences, or whether is new mechanics which he has had to learn will crumble under pressure especially with Green defending his blindside.
If you select a guy at 15 when he’d likely have been around at 41, then its a waste.
I would be seriously shocked if OBD will spend a No1 pick on a guy who even his biggest supporters think is very unlikely to start in his rookie year.
Does it matter?
If the Bills draft Tebow 9th, 15th, in the 2nd round, wherever, does it matter as long as he becomes their starting QB and a franchise cornerstone???
You seem to assume Tebow will be there at 41. There’s no guarantee he’ll get by the multitude of teams that may be looking for a young QB….
And who cares if he is unlikely to start his rookie year? Why should that even be a consideration?

True
That can be said about any draft pick.

exactly, if he becomes good in 2 years and a starter and a franchise corner stone i dont get why people would be so upset. If belechek wanted to see him privately doesn’t that say something about tebow? im sorry but i believe this guy is going to be great, maybe not in the next 2 years but lets face it, we are not going to be great in the next 2 years.
If Tebow is gone by our 2nd round pick
We thank our lucky stars that we just dodged a franchise killing bullet. QB should be our 3rd or 4th round option this year. OT/DT/WR first
QB should be our 3rd or 4th round option this year.
Because why exactly?

What if OBD thinks Tebow is a future starting QB in the NFL?
I would lose all faith in OBD and Nix even at #15, there are just too many unanswered questions that won’t even get a hint of an answer until Tebow plays some pre season games. In the 2nd round, I’d be ok if he is there, in the 3rd if he there I am all for it, because if he doesn’t work out at QB and is a total bust, he still has some value to a team as a HB or TE possibly, where the risk is more worth the gamble.

OK
But you are already under the impression that Tebow won’t cut it. At least that’s what I’m gleaning from your comments. My opinion is that if Tebow does amount to a quality NFL QB, would the 15th pick be too high for him??

If he equates to a quality (top 7) NFL QB then no, it’s not too early to pick him, It’s just too hard to make that decision now. At #15 it is boom or bust, in the 2nd it is boom or we overpayed for a HB or TE, In the 3rd it is Boom, or we at least have a decent HB or TE that was fair value with good upside at QB and can be used in the wildcat sometimes.

The only way I would even consider taking Tebow at #15.
Is if he went through 12 on 12 drills with full tackling, which I am sure his agent would never allow.
That’s the only way you could asses his new throwing motion under pressure.

Why would you be okay with Tebow in the 3rd round, if he busts? Why does rd 1 make him a huge risk, or at least any more of a risk than any other player in the draft?
Aside from the money, there’s little reason to ignore that this kid has coachable talent, and the heart and desire to win like no one else yet discovered in this draft.
If you want Tebow, i’m guessing you have to take him earlier than ANYONE thinks he should go. I think a good number of teams are going to play cat and mouse trying to take him.

Even if they think he is a future pro bowler .... he'll be there in the 2nd
So ….. if that is their plan …. to take Tebow in the 2nd (God Forbid) ….For sake of argument, let’s assume that they take (NT)Dan Williams with the 15th pick. I consider this a great draft already … we got an extra 3rd rounder, a 5th in next years draft, a needed nose tackle, then a future pro bowler (yeah right) in the second, then devote the next 2 3rd rounders towards OT’s.
My problem with trading down is
Whatif we trade down with the intention of taking Anthony Davis(hypothetically). Well because we traded down, doesn’t mean a team couldn’t tradeup over us, and leave us holding the bag so to speak.

Agree - LT is Definately Priority #1
But, Looking at the Offensive Tackles in this Draft, there appears to be ALOT of depth, starting with Group “A” : R.Okung/B.Bulaga/T.Williams/A.Davis, Group “B”: B.Campbell/C.Brown/R.Saffold, Group C
So, if (QB)J.Clausen or (DT)D.Williams happened to be there and we took them, we would have to sacrifice OT down to Group “B” with the 2nd pick, but I’d be willing to Trade up with our 2 3rd rounders in to the late 2nd and take a group "C’ Offensive Tackle also. Then, if Eric Wood is possibly not ready to go at the start of the year, we have a high line draft pick to plug into his spot until he’s ready
LT crop is top heavy
I think there are a lot of decent LTs in this years class but it is a top heavy draft like in 2008.
In 2008, a total of 8 OTs went in R1, including 6 LTs but after that the next selection was Joe Greco in R3, and I think the next LT drafted who has been regarded as a starter is Demetrius Bell.
I think there will be a rush on LTs like in 2008 because of their overall value to an offence but the drop off in talent is then significant.
Teabag All of you who say or hope we draft him,
I dislike Tebow as a QB prospect as much as any on this site. However the Teabag comment’s are pretty much unneccasary, inflamatory, and don’t really help our cause in the court of public opinion. Not trying to call you out, it’s just I’ve seen comment’s like this several time’s and I believe they reflect poorly on all the poster’s here at Buffalorumblings.
I don’t even like tea!
Yes, I know what he meant, but man i’m trying to forget it. I don’t know why anyone would want to, you know. Nevermind.

First of all
Congrats for the spawning of ANOTHER Tebow Thread!!!
second, i get the sense that people are forgetting that Tebow at 15 would be after trading down, and collecting another early round pick.
Though I personally would like to see a trrade to 15 then a trade into the 20’s before taking a look at Tebow. Theres a good chance he’d be taken by New England, for example, before that pick, but in that case, they get at least 2 more picks, and still a chance at players like Kindle, Hughes, Odrick etc…
we the FANS the VOICE the PEOPLE the true BLOOD of the Buffalo BILLS are just doing all this SO mAYBE just MAYbe the Coach THE teAM will just see how us the FANS the the SPARTAN aka BUFARTAN we will not Surrender to know onE.
