Rec'd!

Well done Brian! Many will say that this was an easy pick to make, but you could have gone with an OT and accomplished your mission. You did us proud with the write up too. Not trying to gush, but you covered a lot of information.

Usually the easy pick to make is the right one.

I'm assuming bulaga was gone?

If so I think this could be a good pick. I’d rather go line here (defense or offense) and go tebow in the second but that’s just my opinion.

So hard to do on a mobile phone tho

SBNation needs to adress the mobile aspect a lil more. I’ll check when I get home. No worries either way.

I'm not crazy in love with picking Clausen

…but I wouldn’t object either. I hope however, that they only take him if they are sure about him, that he is the guy they targeted all along. The good news is that I really think that Nix and Gailey would be confident enough in themselves to pass him up if they weren’t 100% sure about him.

Yeah, and what is up with the Raider's taking Bulaga?

Good pick, but Al Davis will never make that pick.

I was going to say JR, but you said skill POSITION :-)

Just because Russell doesn’t have any skill doesn’t mean he doesn’t play a skill position. Easy mistake to make. :-)

I’m going by the fact that he’s a freakishly good athlete for an OT.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see the Raiders take Trent Williams. Bulaga’s short arms will scare them away from him.

The more I see, the less I know.

by CanadianBillsFan on Mar 27, 2010 3:59 PM EDT up reply actions

This would be the highest QB taken except for #12

JK was taken 14th in 83, JP was taken in 22 in 04.

Other notable QB grabs would be Reich 3rd round, pick 1 in 85 and Joe Ferguson, 3rd round pick 5.

Not that any of that means anything w/r/t Clausen-but should be noted where he fits in with the good Bills QBs drafted over the years. (except for JP-who is listed b/c he was in the first round.)

Do fans at the Seahawks blog really think Carrol could take Mays over Berry? That seems strange to me, but last time I visited their blog (last month,) Colt McCoy was polled to favored over all other QB prospects. It rains a lot in Seattle this time of year.

by Undee on Mar 27, 2010 3:14 AM EDT reply actions

Well, from what my friends back there have been reporting since I left, Carroll has it for Mays like Homer has it for donuts

I think he goes safety here, the rest of the D aside from CB is solid. But they should be looking at the Oline or RB to be effective, heck, Claussen makes more sense.

Nix and Chan, the new Cheech and Chong of the Bills, hopefully they will be as successful in business as they were, and not so much the drug fueled comedy act....

by WABillsfan on Mar 27, 2010 6:53 AM EDT reply actions

I think Cleveland will take him no matter what Holmgren says. IF not Cleveland, then Oakland. I’m surprised more people don’t have Oakland taking Clausen. Russel is a bust so all the have is the other guy. But it would be great if we got Clausen.

by Bill Frank on Mar 27, 2010 7:56 AM EDT reply actions

Knowing how mental Al Davis is, he’ll probably go balls to the wall to obtain Mcnabb.

by AndyOffGeneseeSt. on Mar 27, 2010 8:31 AM EDT up reply actions

I think that Russell showed enough imporvement in Oakland’s eye to give him one more year before they draft another QB. You don’t give up on a first overall pick in 2 seasons, that just doesn’t happen.

The more I see, the less I know.

I’ve heard he’s that bad. Again though, it is the raiders!

by buffalobacker on Mar 28, 2010 12:13 AM EDT up reply actions

Make that two!

I’d blow chow too if da Bills picked Clausen. Build the lines, build the defense. Run it down other teams throats and punish them on defense first.

by edsonm on Mar 27, 2010 8:31 AM EDT reply actions

NICE MOVE

I just want to see us have the opportunity to pick him and then I will be satisfied either way but, I’m still holding out a little hope that Nix doesn’t think Mitchell or Andra Davis are going to be on this team for more than a year and think Rolando McClain can be our Ray Lewis. Out of all the prospects in this draft I think Rolando McClain is going to be the biggest impact player out of this draft.
With all of that said if we have the opportunity to draft Clausen I think we trade the pick to someone who does want to draft him and get a Derrick Morgan or another top defensive prospect a few picks back

by BuFFaL0nian on Mar 28, 2010 1:36 AM EDT reply actions

I'm the biggest Rolondo McClian fan,

but for Buffalo after signing Andra Davis kind of tells me that the Bills aren’t going to draft him with all the other needs.
