OL Smith visits Bills - BuffaloBills.com
Wade Smith (6’4", 296) is an eight-year veteran that has played mostly guard and center in his time in the league. He has 34 starts in his career and spent the last two seasons in Kansas City where he made 16 of those starts serving mainly at right guard.

Fan Friday 3-5 - Inside the Bills
Chris Brown doesn't see a Donovan McNabb trade happening. He also discusses his thoughts on Rolando McClain, drafting a high round WR, trading down from the top ten, and addressing the OL and NT positions through free agency. He also mentions James Hardy in particular will get his shot in 2010.

Scott agrees to terms with Bills - BuffaloBills.com
"Bryan Scott was coming off his best season in a Bills uniform, finishing third on the team in tackles while also contributing a pair of sacks and an interception. Perhaps most impressive was the safety’s midseason position switch to linebacker, when injuries decimated Buffalo’s linebacking corps."

NFL Free Agency
Bills quiet on first day of free agency - AFC East Blog - ESPN

"I feel badly for my Buffalo Bills readers because I haven't had much to share Friday. " Then Tim Graham mentions what the other teams have done and Buddy Nix's comments about building through the draft.

OL Smith the first visit – Inside The Bills
"The guy is a capable starter and very familiar to Bills offensive line coach Joe D’Alessandris, who coached him the past two years. Looking back at some tape from the game between the Bills and Chiefs last season, he had the block as the pulling guard to bust Jamaal Charles for that long touchdown run in the Bills 16-10 win."

BillBoard: Bills host KC guard
"Last year he made nine starts at guard for the Chiefs, beating out veteran Mike Goff for the starting job the second half of the year. The year before Smith started seven games."

Peppers Highlights NFL Signings On Day One - WGR 550 SportsRadio
WGR550 recaps the first day of free agency as of 10PM last night.

Pennington agrees to trade bonus - AFC East Blog - ESPN
"As expected, veteran quarterback Chad Pennington has returned to the Miami Dolphins. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Pennington re-signed for one year and $2.5 million to be Chad Henne's backup. The signing was delayed because of haggling over a no-trade clause Pennington insisted upon, but an accord was reached when Pennington dropped the demand in exchange for a $1.515 million bonus if the Dolphins trade him."

Packers Suckered Into Three-Year Deal For Chad Clifton -- NFL FanHouse
OT Chad Clifton signed a new contract with the Packers yesterday. ESPN's Adam Schefter says the new contract is worth $20 million over three years, with $7.5 million guaranteed.

Will the Bills look at Kevin Mawae? : Buffalo Sports Daily
"According to a report by Charean Williams on ESPN’s "First Take" show, the Buffalo Bills could be a potential suitor for free agent center Kevin Mawae. Williams said that Mawae wants to start and that Seattle and Buffalo could be in play for the 17-year veteran."

Bills interested in Kelley Washington : Buffalo Sports Daily
"It’s been great," Washington told Bills.com after his visit last year. "I’ve been touring the facility and meeting the staff and just getting a feel for what they’re looking for in me as a player and what I can offer to the organization. It’s all a part of free agency. This is one of the teams that I’m interested in coming to and being a part of the organization."

Scott's return a good thing - Inside the Bills
"GM Buddy Nix says competition makes everyone better and there will be some fierce competition at the strong safety spot. It’s unclear whether the new staff sees Donte Whitner as a strong or free safety, but at the very least, Bryan Scott and George Wilson will be battling for that starting role, with the possibility of Whitner being in the mix as well."

RFAs that could get some play - Inside the Bills
"With the restricted free agent tenders made, here’s a list of some players that could see some offer sheets headed their way based on the tender level they were given by their current club: OT Jared Gaither, QB Troy Smith, S Danieal Manning, TE Tony Scheffler, QB Tarvaris Jackson, OT Jermon Bushrod, RB Pierre Thomas, ILB Kirk Morrison, OLB Chris Gocong, and OG Rob Sims."

Wilson: Bengals interested in T.O. | National Football Post
The Bengals are interested in both of Buffalo's pass-catching free agents: Josh Reed and Terrell Owens.

Report: McNabb power struggle - Inside the Bills
With three viable QBs on their roster speculation will never die down as to which one the Eagles will ultimately move via trade. But reports out of Philadelphia indicate that while Andy Reid is staunchly committed to keeping Donovan McNabb for the 2010 campaign, other front office members are not.

Broncos sign DL Justin Bannan and CB Nathan Jones - Mile High Report
Former Bills DL Justin Bannan signed with the Broncos as a UFA. The Bills fifth-round pick in 2002 is doing very well for himself.

Redskins re-sign DE Daniels, OL Williams - Action News Jacksonville
The Redskins re-signed Buffalo draft bust Mike Williams. "Mike showed a tremendous work ethic and willingness to do whatever the team asked of him, and those are two of the traits we're looking for in Redskins players," Shanahan said. "We believe that he's only scratched the surface of his abilities so far, and look forward to seeing what he can do after a full off-season in our program."

Kawika's Uganda trip blog - BuffaloBills.com

"For the next week Bills linebacker Kawika Mitchell is teaming up with New York Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka in a charity effort to help villages in Kiwanuka’s native Uganda. Mitchell will be providing updates on his encounters and experiences during his week in Africa right here on BuffaloBills.com. He shares his thoughts on the upcoming trip that begins in Uganda Monday."

Jills highlight health and exercise - BuffaloBills.com
The Buffalo Bills cheerleaders, the Jills, performed and taught their signature dance moves at the National Day of Dance, sponsored by Kaleida Health, on Saturday, February 27. Held at the Eastern Hills Mall in Amherst, NY, the local event included dance demonstrations by a dozen different groups from all over Western New York.

2010 NFL Draft
News " Texas Football

Texasfootball.com projects former Texas HS WR Jeremy Williams from Tulane to be the Bills 4th round pick.

Shake's Post Combine Mock - Mocking The Draft
Shake and Bake, the Colts blogger and Mocking the Draft moonlight, has Buffalo picking Rutgers OT Anthony Davis in the first and TCU OLB Jerry Hughes in the second round. UNC NT Cam Thomas is his pick in the third. That wouldn't be awful especially with QBs Tony Pike, Dan LeFevour, and Tim Tebow still on the board beginning the fourth. If the Bills snatched one of them at the top of that round it would be a solid beginning.

Get on it OBD. That would be a great pick up IMO. Hes such a great leader and captain. He would anchor that line and teach the young, inside guys (Levitre and Wood) a thing or 30. He plays thru broken arms and everything, the guys a tank. I would love for him to start here for a year or two. Not that Hangman was bad last year, but if you can upgrade… YOU UPGRADE!

I think I would rather take Gilyard or Shipley over those QBs.

I agree totally with that

But I have this gut feeling that just won’t go away that Chan has His eye on Tebow as the QB He’d like to work into this team..Wouldn’t be my choice, but it feels so much like what Chan and Nix will do..

Never argue with an Idiot, they'll drag You down to their level and beat You with experience every time..

Tony Scheffler- 2nd round tender?

Kirk Morrison- 3rd round tender?

Anyone have interest in these guys at those tenders?

by StroudFanClub on Mar 6, 2010 1:10 PM EST reply actions

Nope

Scheffler is way too injury prone for my liking, especially at that price.

Morrison isn’t a great fit for our D. We need a big thumper at ILB, not a guy like Morrison who’s a more of a flow to the ball and avoid blockers type LB….
