Brady Quinn
Per Rotoworld, NFL Network's Mike Lombardi is reporting that Brady Quinn will be the Browns #3 QB this season. It also notes that he could likely be had for a late round pick. While I did not see many Browns games this year (unfortunately I saw just 1...uggh), Quinn might be worth a late round pick. I'm not one to make multiple posts in one day, but this seemed as a possible option for the QB position. I would much rather end up with Quinn than Anderson, as has been discussed in an earlier post.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I’d love to have Quinn for a 4th rounder…better than any QB we can draft 4th round

4th seems steep
for a 3rd qb. thats like the bills trading brohm for a 4th. i would think a 6th or even a 7th would get it done. i would also rather quinn than anderson. quinn is a guy that i feel wasnt allowed to truley develop. he may have some limited potential still untapped.

so?
hes still a 3rd qb. so the bills should overpay just because hes better than anyone they have? i would be against acquiring him for anything above a 6th.

agreed
I would take Quinn over Anderson any day of the week. At the end of the season, Quinn actually didn’t look too bad. He finished last season with a 67.2% completion percentage and a 8-7 TD/INT, which isn’t too shabby considering they had no receivers (Furrey and Massequoi i think were their two receivers) and they had an even more unstable QB carousel than we did last year. and they weren’t dump off passes either. Jerome Harrison only had 34 receptions on the year, which isn’t too high, and their tight end was Robert Royal, who most of us should remember well.
All in all though, if they are willing to give him up for a late round pick, I would jump on it. Nothing higher than a 5th though. the main knock is that half of his touchdowns came in one game against the lions (i wish i had been able to see that game)
oops
my bad. That 67.2 was his rating, which makes him look considerably worse. the only good thing about it was that it has been going up each of the past three years. his 55% completion percentage is really quite, well, wimpy.
If we take him
How much money will they pay us? Just Kidding. Rebuilding does require a franchise QB I guess, just not sure he is the right direction to go, considering the QB’s we already have. Is the Donavan McNabb rumor all over with at one point I thought I read they were still talking?
This is like dumping a new puzzle from it's box. Now let's start putting the peices together. I guess this is what we all asked for.
I am confident
That we the right football people in place. They are going to get us a Franchise QB as soon as they see feasible. If it’s Brady Quinn, then I’m all for Brady Quinn.

I would take neither
Brady Quinn is not a good quarterback and has shown nothing in the NFL so far why are people so high on him still. I wouldn’t trade a 7th round pick for him. I would definitely take Anderson over Quinn too.
Id give a 6th round pick...
because we are picking so high in the draft order. They can find a 3rd string QB anywhere.
OK.....I know I might be opening myself up here, but
If Anderson has been cut and Quinn is the 3rd QB, then who is going to be the starter and backup…..Wallace? Really??
A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing!
Well, they’d be stupid to hand the starting job to Seneca Wallace, so who the hell would start if Quinn doesn’t?
Unless their plan is to grab Clausen at 7, I don’t see why Cleveland would move him.

Some patience might be in order for all these young QB's like Anderson, Quinn, and Edwards.
If Quinn is available that cheap, I’d make the deal.
Something to consider:
Trent Edwards has played in 24 total pro games.
Brady Quinn has played in 14 total pro games.
In Troy Aikman’s first 26 games (two years) his season QB rating were 55.7 and 66.6. 20 TD’s, 36 INT’s.
Brees: first 28 games (two seasons, one game as a rookie), 76.9/67.5, 28 TD, 31 INT
Fouts: first five seasons, 43 games, highest QB rating was 77.4, 34 TD, 57 INT
Moon: first four seasons, 57 games, highest QB rating 76.9, 61 TD, 77 INT
Bradshaw: first five season, 59 games, highest QB rating 64.1, 48 TD’s, 81 INT’s

In the new NFL, it's what have you done for me lately....
Guys aren’t going to get the Moon or Bradshaw time to grow….at least in one location

You're right, and it is what it is
But is doesn’t make sense. If all those QB’s took that long to develop, it should take longer now. The defenses are more complex, and so are the offenses.
I’m way more willing to give guys time. The Roethlisberger, Ryan, Flacco recent experiences aren’t indicative of the developmental timelines for NFL QB’s. Sanchez was about right historically.
I’d hate to pass on a good QB because we weren’t patient enough.

I think I'd take him over Derek Anderson
but that’s really saying much.
For a 6th round pick or so, I think it could be worth the gamble. If Cleveland is willing to either keep him as the 3rd QB or let him go for whatever, then I would hope the Bills at least think about making the move. I’d rather have Quinn for a 6th rounder than take some project QB there.

I'm confused
If Quinn is to be their 3rd QB, who else is there? Seneca Wallace is the only other guy on the roster right now. Is Troy Smith a done deal?

anderson
Didnt Anderson go to the probowl in 07? Just like the Bills no team around him, Id just as soon have Derek Anderson, big guy and a strong arm , he could help the bills even just for the short term,
As a Notre Dame fan I have a soft spot for Quinn, but I feel like the Browns have done the standard Bills treatment of their young quarterbacks…If they don’t produce right away, they never will. I think that if given the right amount of time and coaching the Brady Quinn will be a good NFL quarterback. I’d defn give up a 4th or 5th for him.
There are a lot of people out there who think that Quinn still has untapped potential, but how many QBs in the league blossom after being stuck in terrible situations for the first 3 years of their careers? While I think he’s much better than Anderson, the idea of him suddenly growing into a top 15 QB is far-fetched, in my opinion.
Um... most of the guys I listed earlier in this post were in some bad situations before they blossomed.

I can still see Quinn blossoming ala Aikman
I just have a hard time seeing it in Edwards. I just think that hit by Adrian Wilson ruined him mentally, when it comes to being tough in the pocket.
quinn and edwards
quinn and edwards suffered the same fate they both had different cordinators in the years they started and both were behind crappy olines both can be great qb’s if given the few seconds needed to complete the passing motion
I've never met a QB who can throw off his back
