For those of you concerned he wasn't in attendance the first day, Shawn Nelson told me he is in Buffalo and attending OTAs.

Good to hear... He will be the #1 TE this year. We'll have to draft a blocking one later
in the draft or they get 1 or 2 in post-draft rookie free agency (my guess).
What about Lynch now? Any word where he is or why he isn’t in Buffalo?
None.
You can't have CHANGE without CHAN.

Not to hijack Nelson's topic....
That Nix has spoken to him is interesting. I’m beginning to see a bit of Mike Williams in Mr. Lynch.

That’s good to hear. He needs all the blocking work he can get if he wants to play every down in Chan’s run-heavy offense.

I’m still not convinced he couldn’t play WR in an NFL offense.

I agree. He has the body, hands, and speed for it. Using him like a Dallas Clark might be where he’s best suited.

I think he could be used similar to how Green Bay used Finley this past year. They have pretty much the same build, and Nelson actually may be a few steps quicker.
Nelson ran a 4.56, Finley ran a 4.66
but as Al Davis keeps learning, faster isn’t always better

I’m thinking someone in the mold of John Taylor for Nelson: Big guy, great hands and tough to bring down.
Speaking of the 49ers glory days…
Think about this: they had 2 great wide outs, both of whom ran rather slow 40 dashes, and a QB who was thought to have a weak arm. Look what they accomplished. It can be done when talent is perceived as lacking.
