We're finally here! No more this spring shall we have to say "final," "last," "one more," or even "mock." The time has come for the new regime to begin assembling college talent to (hopefully...eventually) lead this organization back to its once-winning ways.
It's also important at this time to realize this is just the draft. Nothing's set in stone after tonight or this weekend, and that means no player is going to instantly fail nor are they guaranteed instant success. We all saw what happened with Byrd and Maybin, respectively, last year. Byrd became an INT stud and Maybin seemed stuck in a turnstile. So let's try our best not to freak out too much here when we find fault with a pick, and play nice with each other.
Tonight it's time to sit back, crack your favorite bevie(s) open, fire up the laptop and lose yourself in the hype (and your couch) that is the NFL draft. I'll be enjoying Goose Island Matilda and grilled Caribbean-curried shrimp tonight.
How do you all intend on enjoying the first round and what are you looking forward to most in the coming days? Do you have any draft rituals that you just cannot give up? Will you choose pants or no pants? If this is your first draft at "Rumblings," welcome aboard.
Oh and me, i'm hoping to order a Tim Tebow throwback over the weekend.
