Buffalo's Sleeping Beauties (Underrated picks)
Just wanted to share some thoughts with you guys. I think Chan and Buddy have something going on with NFL Draft Dog. Four of our draft picks ( Carrington, Calloway, Batten and Esley) all were projected as sleepers or underrated picks in this years draft, according to Draft Dog. You toss in the in coming free agents and you have three more (Naaman Roosevelt - WR Buffalo, Stats last two years...average 86 catches for 1200 yards and 11TD's - Joique Bell - RB Wayne State,- Division Two " Player of the Year" and Donald Jones - WR Youngstown, 6'3 with a 42 inch verticle) on that sleeper list.
Now being on that sleeper list doesn't mean anything except:
1. You were a good player on your college team.
2. Coaches know who you are even if fans don't.
3. You will make camp more competative.
4. And hopefully you'll WAKE UP!
Small schools(sleepers) have been good to us over the years...check Andre Reed and Fred Jackson. But I think that it's good that you have what scouts call sleepers or diamonds in the rough on your team. The problem is getting the best out of them. Chan brought in a lot of coaches who like to teach for a reason. Guys we will be young, hungry and have an attitude with this coaching staff. They are doing things the right way...not glamorus but very, very solid. As far as QB goes...BB will be the starter next year...he has all the tools and Chan will fall in love with this guy and wake him up!
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I'm a Bills fan...
which means it’s in my blood to cheer for the underdog, or in this case, the small school “sleepers”…

QB competition is key.
We will all be waiting for the chips to fall on this one. Think back during Buddy’s years here the first time around. There were allot of small school prospects drafted each year. Many of them became very serviceable because they were surrounded by players that didn’t know any better than to just play hard and win.

Not sure if you can call him a sleeper. He played in the Big East for a good team.
Watching him tear up WV last year really caught my eye. Realy good pick.
Quit, don't quit? Noodles, don't noodles? You are too concerned about what was and what will be. There is a saying: yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the "present." --Oogway
Does anyone else see a problem with a team like Buffalo drafting "sleeper" type prospects.......
Or am I the only one?

I might be concerned if they were all sleepers, but a healthy mix I’m fine with. It’s easy to say “why not draft the big name players from big name schools” – but how many of them are available. Especially in later rounds (where we got most of our “sleepers”) it’s harder to find big names from big schools and upside goes way up when you’re picking underrated players. I mean rounds 3, 4, 6, and 7 aren’t where you get most of your franchise players anyway (I’ll give you 3, but Carrington seems to be the safest of the sleeper picks anyway).

I dunno it just seems like to me......
they take on too many sleeper types every year lately.
But whatever I guess. :-)
