Here we go again

Ok, so the 2010 NFL Draft is done for the Buffalo Bills, and so is the 2010-11 season for the Buffalo Bills. The Bills went into this draft with specific needs and holes and did little if nothing to fill them. Taking nothing from C.J. Spiller, but why did we draft him if we are not going to get rid of Lynch? And what kind of message does this send to Jackson? Hey great job last year but uh heres another first round pick for you to compete with and possibly sit behind.

Jackson ran for 1062 yards last season and had 46 catches for 371 yards. He also averaged a healthy and impressive 4.5 ypc last season, and his numbers would have been better if it wasn't for Lynch taking half of his carries trhough the middle weeks, and now you add a top ten pick who has to split carries in an already crowded backfield.I believe a solid left tackle would have been a great choice. But if the Bills beleived that there was no one available at 9 then why not trade down and secure a franchise tackle likw Bulaga or Davis and grab some extra picks in the process? The Bills ranked 30th against the run last season giving up 9 - 100 yard rushers and 4 - 200 yard rushers. Now with that being said why not a run stuffing NT like Williams at 9 or lower? He was available at 26 and teams like the Chargers and Eagles were looking to move up. I like Spiller if we had a need at rb, but hes not going to stop the 46 sacks we gave up last year and hes not going to dramatically help a team that ranked 28th in points scored last season.

Now on to the pick of Troup, the last time the Bills reached for a big run stuffin DT was a guy named McCargo, and everyone knows how thats working out. Its arguable that 2 serious needs coming in were QB and an outside pass rusher. Two guys that fell to us at 41 were Sergio Kindle and Jimmy Clausen. You guys might say that Clausen isn't that good and thats why he fell all the way to Carolina, I tend to agree but hes leaps better than what we have now. Now look at how bad the pass rush has been over the past years. Take away Aaron Schobel (10 Sacks) and the rest of the front seven has about 12 sacks total (1 from our starting OLBs) and you tell me someone like Kindle coming off the edge would not help improve that. He had an injury concern ( but I think he cleared that up in the BCS Title game and combine) and some character issues. (Typical college stuff) He is getting a fresh start with good coaches in a good system and I think hes going to be a Pro Bowler for years to come. And not to mention Ricky Sapp went in the 5th round, this is a guy who runs a 4.5 40, a great tackler and is being compared to DeMarcus Ware. Who knows how this draft class will turn out, but as of right now, With the first pick in the 2011 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills select..........

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
