Well, the last 24 hours have been very good for the Bills. First, we didn't overpay to get McNabb for one year (since he wasn't willing to sign a long-term deal with us). Then he gets traded within his division to the Skins, which takes them out of the market for Clausen. Then the Lions get Rob Sims which basically means that Backus will stay at LT. That makes it a lot less likely that they'll take a tackle with their first rounder.
If these two things didn't happen, it could have been ugly for us drafting at #9 where the top two QB's and possibly the top 4 LT's could have been off the board when we picked. This now almost assures that we'll have our choice of a top 4 LT or Clausen.
Personally, I am really hoping we could pry Jason Campbell away for a 4th rounder. I'd even be willing to offer a 3d rounder. Then we could use our 1st on a LT, our 2nd on a NT and fill three huge holes before the end of the second round.
I love Clausen too, but if we don't get Campbell pre-draft, then we can only fill 2 holes prior to the third round. Maybe the luck is starting to turn in our favor for once.
