What a first Bills game to remember.....

It was 1984.... Any Bills Fans remember those back-to-back glory years of 1984-1985??

It was my first Buffalo Bills game, week 12, November 18, 1984. The Bills were 0-11 and Dallas was 11-0 (I believe). Joe Ferguson was QB for Buffalo and Greg Bell was the featured runnning back. I read that the game was sold out but I remember there were a LOT of empty seats. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The weather was miserable; sleet, freezing rain, wind, etc. Just what you'd expect in Buffalo!!  We weren't expecting much but certainly wanted to beat the 'Boys. Greg Bell started it off with an electrifying 85 yard TD run on the first play from scrimmage. Needless to say, we went nuts!! I don't remember a lot of the game after that. NO - I wasn't using antifreeze. :)

I remember Joe Ferguson hanging his head after throwing his 2nd INT of the game. When the final seconds ticked off it was like we had won the Super Bowl. We were at the tunnel endzone waiting for the players to walk through and we were yelling at the 'Boys - YOU SUCK!!  We were the ones that sucked..... But not that day. FINAL SCORE - 14-3.

I remember watching Tom Landry walking through the tunnel and that was a special moment. A classy guy. Never liked the Cowboys but always respected Tom Landry.

That's my first Bills game. I have gone to many more games since then but will always remember that one the most. Hope you enjoyed the reminisce!!

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
